That's like...Google without the GOOGLE logo. We gotta keep the horses. The newcomers can just learn to live with it.

Or better yet, give the webpage some Themes. With or without horses. We've got a "profile" section...maybe put a couple in there?

the TL layout is kind-of old-fashioned but it's fine

the banner is excellent
maybe the other bars could use some color changes or style change, but the banner itself is fine

i dont think the problem is the banner :d

This is a great idea imo! A Banner Contest(SC2 Theme) to celebrate the release of of SC2, the selected winning banner will be put up for let's say a month along with his or her name. I think this would entice a lot of newcomers to see how TL has active community fun activities. On release date was my original plan but 5 days isn't a long time to produce solid results.. unless we have a dedicated TL! Thoughts?

I simply love those horses, they are such a strong trademark for Teamliquid. Please, do never change it.

My only concern is the artistic right.
Because those horses come from a painting by Jim Warren.

Oh yeah, right, there are horses on the top ^^ I nearly forgot about that. I never conciously looked at them for ages. Well I'd say keep them, they are unique and distinctive and they don't take anything away from the site. There are enough boring sites out there already.

TL would be so much less unique and so much more boring looking if it had an SC themed layout. The horses make it unique and awesome. I wouldn't mind a redesign of the website, but the horses should stay in some form.

Purely speculation but about 2 months ago you had the heads of jeadong flash etc on hand puppets... That kinda stuff plus the horses makes the site look like we are fairies... IMHO

I remember seeing these horses when I watched my brother play Starcraft BW. He always came on here and I was like wow those Horses are cool but what do they have to do with SC? lol

Please dont change them, it just wouldn't be the same. If it's not broken don't change it.

I really like it. I'm curious where the "It hurts TL" options came from - I mean, I'm imagining the scenario where it puts someone off. In my head it goes as follows:

"Oh i herd there was a gud starcraft forum 4 pros ill post there"
...
"wtf is this horse stuff omg im posting on battle.net instead"

Perhaps exaggerrated, but... if it puts someone off it's the sort of person who focuses too much on looks over content. I doubt you're losing too many amazing contributors that way.
