I would also like to point out that I have played quite a bit of BW, and I simply find SC2 to be much more enjoyable.

SC2 also has a lot more awesome features that can be used for commentators: APM, income, army, units lost, etc. I've watched a few MSL (or OSL, whichever) games, just watched jd vs midas last night, and I don't see what makes BW so much more exciting to watch than starcraft; they seem like very similar games to me. Newer, better looking graphics never hurt either... mmm 1080P. I would also like to point out that I have played quite a bit of BW, and I simply find SC2 to be much more enjoyable. Being Korean is good huh xD I really do enjoy the Korean commentators though I suppose it would be different if I don't understand the commentators, but sometimes on streams, there are translators who are generous enough to translate what they are saying in livestream chat I am really surprised they are willing to do that Very kind people (Lyriene, Abacus, among others thanks~) But it is just like others have said, proleague fans have "grown up" watching these players and teams. They are cheering for their favorite player or team, Hoping for they FPL to rake in some points They are anxiously waiting the ace player choice and the monumental game that will ensue There are rivalries that extend like OSU vs Michigan (although not so much now kind of dated but go back 8 years or so) Monsters and Tyrants who are destroying (Flash, Jaedong) Dominating players that have been struggling (Savior, Bisu) Legends of past that are trying to make magic (Nada, Nal_rA) All these culminate in the eSports BW scene not saying SC2 is not a fun game to watch, but SC2 does not have this yet but in the future might come

No way. For example, Idra is pretty much the top 5 in SC2, but he is pretty much the worst progamer in the Korean pro scene.

Well I've been watching the HDH tournament and 80% of the games were boring macro fests. The rest were protoss rushes. I don't really enjoy watching idra mass roaches then hitting 1a and the games over. I only remember one interesting game where nony use phoenixes even then i was crying IMBA. I don't know how zerg can deal with that without scourge -.-

You'll learn more about the game just observing, anyway. You'll eventually start to make your own reads into the game, and simply enjoy the commentary for it's best aspect - the excitement factor! I mean, that's what separates the games really. Where's the excitement in your average SC2 game or cast? Day9 tries his hardest, but it's nowhere near the same.
