More games doesn't equal better finals.
They could go for Bo21 and there would be no tension in any game.
Less games equals more tension, but also increases the luckfactor. Bo5 is the perfect mix.
I remember lots of Bo5 from the korean pro scene, and Bo5 is certainly enough.

Only reason why we're in the minority is because many people vote before they actually think about it, as has been stated above.

I hope the staff knows about this too.

Well, you're right and you're wrong. If you've ever watched a snooker finals, then you'd know that indeed, the first few frames are not the most exciting. However, the longer a match goes, the more tired the players get and it's very hard for players to keep their cool. I'm not that interested in consistently perfect plays. I'm more into seeing these gladiators fight till they've got nothing more to give. The fact that BO5 'works' is not something I will dispute, but getting out of that comfort zone MIGHT bring something special to the finals.

I voted Bo3 Ro16, Bo5 Ro8 / Ro4, Bo7 but maybe I was wrong... a Bo7 could be tiring if the games weren't exciting...

I don't think it would be tiring to watch 7 games, it's not that IMO. Stylish is correct about what he says in his post; Bo5 is the ultimate compromise between reduction of luck factor and tension in each game.

Definitly Bo3 Ro16 to Bo5.

Ro7 fucks a lot of the mind game because each of the games lose of their importance. The gambling in cheeses / Bo choices is much, much more exciting in Bo5 imo.

yeah, it also might bring something terrible and depressing to the finals instead.
and comparing sc to snookers is not good, you are always on edge, fidgity, extremely reactive and concentrated in SC, while in snookers you have time to think coolly and chill yourself out.

And why would you not want consistent and awesomely-executed plays? I don't want the last few games to become something that looks like some D- scrubs are playing against each other because the players are so tired and sloppy..

Is there a reason the Ro16 can't be a group stage?

Especially with the last qualifier stage being a best of 5, I think it would be weird to go back to a best of 3. A best of 5 has between 24-40 games in the round of 16 while a group stage has 24 + tiebreakers.

Voted Bo3 Ro16, Bo5 after...

Bo7 just isn't all that fun imo. There's so much pressure in a Bo5 but the luck element is reduced more than in a Bo3....

Bo7 just doesnt feel right.

Bo7 is just boring to watch. No more creativity after the 4th game.

How the hell can you guys voting even consider the Bo7 options. T____T

Bo3 until Ro16, then Bo5 after. I don't know how anything else is even being considered -_-

I agree. Bo3 can be luck and Bo7 is hugely unnecessary as Bo5 in most cases ends with the person who played better throughout the series, and another 2 games won't change that. Not only for the players themselves but the casters and even the spectators, Bo7 would get boring.

There's already a Bo5 qualifier right before the Round of 16.

Hmmm... can TSL massage the brackets to avoid mirrors? That would be sweet... mirrors always seem to favor strong mechanics over creative play, which to me defeats the purpose of watching foreigners instead of Korean pros.

Anyways, Bo5 all-round sounds like the best option, but if I were planning to watch every match I'd probably prefer Bo3 or some kind of group system in the early stages. Mass Bo5 would get tiring fast.
My strategy is to fork people.
