If GosuGamers was TeamLiquid's annoying little brother, SC2GG would be TeamLiquid's little brother's classmate's friend's father's plumber. With the expectations set high after the 5-2 thumping of GG.net, can TL follow up with a convincing win over the upstart commentary site? Or will SC2GG, backed by their legions of youtube fans, make their commentary a reality? SC2GG is certainly the underdog. TeamLiquid's users and staff expect nothing less than a 7-0 sweep. But despite constantly playing the martyr card on the TL forums, SC2GG does not want to settle for "respectable". They're in it to win it.
The match kicks off with translation team member OneOther facing off against Deus in a PvT on Othello. What does 강간 translate to? Rape. In the second set, apprentice wizard Hot_Bid (aka R1CH[NamE]) comes out of BW retirement to attempt to stop the god-like hacker WorldCommunist8 from erasing TeamLiquid from existence.
Set three has something Proleague doesn't: 2v2. Inactive since World War 2, German Protoss Carnac teams up with Belgian Zerg and #1 Poster Cow to invade France punish the SC2GG newswriting team of MrBitter and JWD.
Set four is a story of heart, will, and resurgence. DeadVessel has accounted for 50% of all TL.net staff losses, falling to the GG.net Terran Groove during the last showmatch. After his loss to Groove, DeadVessel secluded himself for 30 days, agonizing over the replay and sporting his big red FAIL icon. To punish himself, DV refused to make new IDs for at least 6 hours. Now comes his second and possibly final chance at redemption. Can he change the result this time against the SC2GG caster Vaul? Same matchup. Same map. Different pressure.
Insane won a 2v2 with GTR against GG.net. That alone is enough to make him a hero, but he's back for more. His opponent in Set Five? SC2GG's "as good as Korean commentators" Cholera, who has been quoted as saying "if I had a choice between winning a million dollars or killing all of TeamLiquid's users' families, I would undoubtedly do both."
Set six pits SC2GG's harshest critic outside of China, Rage, against the SC2GG commentator Psyonic_Reaver, who helped set up this showmatch. We should all thank him for his efforts, because without him this match would not happen. However, instead of thanking him we will serve him up a big plate of loss.
The final set has the biggest hype. TL hesitates to call this the "Ace" set, unless "Ace" really means when one team is up 6-0 and the other is desperately trying to get one win. Commentator, Strategy Forum king, and the most hated person on the TL forums, Chill, will play Salv, who is in charge of SC2GG's strategy section. These two love each other, and by love we mean "hate with a passion."
For the past week Staff members have been at a secret bootcamp in the wilderness. Their skill has reached such extreme levels that flawless victory is almost guarenteed and great victory will be brought to TeamLiquid. Rather than practicing ownage by commentary, Chill has simply been binge drinking which he insists will give him the power of flame and mockery come game day - we'll see what Moletrap has to say about that.
As always, matches will be broadcast live and like any good sequel will include lasers explosions and mbs flashing lights.

It's my first post on TL.net now, since I thought it would be time to respond to some of the stuff said in this thread.
If I understood the IRC chat between Chill and WC8 and Cholera (not sure really which staff that was from us) correctly, this grudge match should also in a way be a method to try and bring the community closer and to try and settle some of the problems that have developed in the past. I very much regret many of the things that took place like the entire Combat-EX episode, but I guess that if I understood things correctly and this really is a purpose the showmatch should have a positive effect. Or at least so is intended.
So, if I am right with the last paragraph, then it makes little sense that you speak of certain SC2GG members and of the site itself as you did in the introductory post. Now I may have a somewhat limited sense of humour, but where I come from calling some other site a "random hobo no one knows that we decided to start beating on in some alleyway as we were stumbling home from the bar" is neither funny for the mentioned nor any good in trying to solve any past problems.
It's as if you are saying: "Hey, let there be peace, you nooby idiots!".
Then again, it could also be that my statement is wrong, and the grudge match should rather deepen the already expanding gap and should do nothing in improving the community, rather the opposite. In this case, many things said here make sense.
And lastly, please do not get me wrong. I am not only disappointed with what is said here, but also with the reaction of some SC2GG members, who also used quite immature terms towards TL.net at times, a very regretable thing indeed.
What I would like to know from the part of the TL staff is what your standpoint is - should the match heal wounds or make deeper cuts? And also, I would make a plea for more maturity and responsability in carrying out this match. Let's take into consideration it's not only the staff of the two sites involved, but many fans, and I would hate to see the SC community suffer from a wider gap between the sites.
We are in the end all SC fans, I noticed how close we actually are at the WCG, where I had a great impression of the TL people. So instead of working on our differences, why not try to work on our common passion of SC?

It's difficult to capture your essence in a single image. As I'm sure you know, Romania's role in World War 2 was sickening to many people around the world. After bending over and giving away territory to the Commies and the Nazis like business cards, Romania wasn't happy with its situation and overthrew the rule of moderate King Carol II in favor of his 19 year old down syndrome crack addict son, Mihai. Mihai was a total dick, and ran away from the position with his prostitute girlfriend soon after the nomination. This is also a laughable concept; imagine two people meet for a duel, one has an AK47 and the other has a chicken drumstick. The Russians aren't stupid, however, and saw a good opportunity for a party when it came to them. The Allies probably figured that the only children to be raised in the current generation would be Commies anyways, so the nation was going to be controlled anyways, might as well make it seem like they are making a compromise. The Soviets came in and made it a communist nation, making Romania solid in its bitch status for another 40-some years.
Summary: Why do we hate Romanians?

2. Russians hate Romanians, because they tried to take our shit and then said "I'm sorry!" when we came to their door about to beat the shit out of them.
