ToT)iNcontroL('s victory interview after beating mYm.Advokate 2-1
<hr>
GGL-PuertoRican: So tell me about game 1, did you think you would win since the map favored Zerg?
<p>
ToT)iNcontroL(: well in game 1, I was thinking he'd fast expand (earlier than most) based on his replays that I watched, but he did a very fast bunker and I wasn’t able to do enough with my drones, so I canceled it.
From there I knew in order to have a chance id have to fake like I didn’t have as many lings as I did, and get a flank in.
I managed to pull of my flank and survive his attack, and then i was able to kill the few bats he had and proceed to do enough damage at his home to win the game.
<img src=http://www.rickjsanchez.com/Pictures/IncAndA2Arena.jpg">
<p>
GGL-PuertoRican: Do you think he might of underestimated you? Or did he play solid in your opinion?
<p>
ToT)iNcontroL(: He played very solid, Russian T's are extremely mechanical and very predictable, so I don’t think he’s capable of underestimating me, hehe.
I don’t know if he’s used to the aggressive style that i like to play, (its near suicidal).
<p>
GGL-PuertoRican: That's true, it's what sets you apart from the other USA gamers, you're crazy. It helps in the long run, there’s too many people trying to play basic and by the book, not wanting to mess up at WCG, but that's what makes them lose a lot of the time, especially if you're able to throw them off their game, then they just self destruct.
<p>
ToT)iNcontroL(: i think so to! hehe
<p>
Game 1 Replay: <a href="http://www.ggl.com/demo_comments.php?DemoId=2378">ToT)iNcontroL( vs. mYm.Advokate on Arena</a>
<hr>
GGL-PuertoRican: Did you feel confident while going into game 2, after winning game 1?
<p>
ToT)iNcontroL(: I certainly realized my chances had gone up since winning the first game is such a huge advan<A name="cutnews"></A>tage, from there I can basically dictate what bo / risky ness I can utilize against my opponents.
<p>
GGL-PuertoRican: What do you think was your downfall in game 2, that made you lose?
<p>
ToT)iNcontroL(: Well I was thinking my drops were going to do some damage, and I'd be able to macro stronger, But he was brilliant in that he didn't take that much damage, and he actually expanded a second time, which was really unexpected.
From there, he was able to stay strong and maintain his hold on me and kept upgrading without any problem, and in the end when i was unable to secure 3-4 gasses, and he was simply able to overrun me.
<p>
GGL-PuertoRican: Are you satisfied with how you played in this particular game, or do you think you could of done a little better?
<p>
ToT)iNcontroL(: I haven’t played in 5 days or so. I’m in love with the most rad person on earth.
So as far as "play" goes, no I certainly could do a lot better, But I was satisfied that I played decent at least, and especially since I came away with the overall win in our series!
I owe a lot of it to my warmup games with EchoOfDream & Cocoa.
<p>
GGL-PuertoRican: Yea, those two guys are getting better and better, and I think in USA WCG 2006, they will do great, as well as yourself.
<p>
ToT)iNcontroL(: I agree. And thanks!
<p>
(Both forgot to save game 2 replay!)
<hr>
GGL-PuertoRican: Onto game 3. I noticed it was short, and you came out with the victory to take the series with a 2-1 score.
Did you see him being weak this game? Or did you just have the perfect build to counter him?
<p>
ToT)iNcontroL(: Well I used my deeper understanding of the game.
I did a 9pool to expansion - 3 hatch build. The 9pool didn’t do much and he became overaggressive. So he did a 2 rax / tank push build.
Once his rines left, i again countered and didn’t do much, but enough so that when my Mutas finished, I'd be able to get at his main
From there, his force was locked in at my expansion, blocking 3-4 mineral patches but nothing more. So after 1 big ramp battle I had the game won.
<img src="http://www.rickjsanchez.com/Pictures/IncAndA2Namja.jpg">
<p>
GGL-PuertoRican: Fair enough.
<p>

<hr>
GGL-PuertoRican: As for the Starcraft section of the AmeriCup 2 event, what in your opinion are some of the high points and down falls of it, like how it's being ran, etc.
And what would you like to see in the next AmeriCup event?
<p>
ToT)iNcontroL(: Well it certainly is an awesome competition in the sense that it always has a very strong lineup with a great map selection and comparable rules.
The low point I suppose would be how long it takes, but even that is arguably not a bad thing.
<p>
ToT)iNcontroL(: The next GGL event would be nice if it had the same kind of maps (balanced / played), awesome gamer list (expected), and perhaps more admins to make for more in depth coverage and faster series times.
<p>
GGL-PuertoRican: Yea, I agree with the number of Admins needed.
The reason why I havn't had anyone to help me with AmeriCup events is because I can never find anyone who is trust worthy, knows as much as I do about the game, and who is as dedicated and active as I am with the Starcraft community outside of Korea.
Hopefully by the time AmeriCup 3 comes around, I will have found someone who I think is qualified for the job.
<p>
ToT)iNcontroL(: That would be a great addition to the event, (although you do an amazing job anyways).
<p>
GGL-PuertoRican: So I believe your next match is vs. the loser of Odin vs. Pj.
Do you think your chance is good vs. either of them two, especially since it was Odin who had put you into the losers bracket in Round 1?
<p>
ToT)iNcontroL(: I feel very confident zvp, especially vs PJ where i have had no problem zvp him in the past. As far as Odin is concerned, he is a very good player, but I played horribly vs him. I didn’t stick to my game plan and I threw stuff into his slow mass, not smart. I expect to win the loser of that series.
Also I’m the loser bracket hero, I have to win down here!
<p>
GGL-PuertoRican: Alright, that does it, thnx for your time.

Ah, lovely update from/interview. I wish all the updates from this tournament would have images from the games.
