Actually, I did not know much about him, and I really feel sorry that he has passed away, now I realize after the first case of death for a progamer (I believe), that I would have loved to know more about him, to see him transitioning on Starcraft 2, and then show us wonderful games. This won't happen and I feel sad about this news.

Ugh this came out of nowhere. The very first starcraft replay i watched and the one that got me into serious starcraft/pro gaming was a PvP of Violet's on Peaks of Baekdu. Back then he was unknown but I looked up a lot of his replays and have cheered for him since then.

So sad, RIP.

I don't know if you already know this, but Violet actually played SC2 during his treatment. He was GM on the NA server a couple of months ago.

I don't know what to say. It's just so sad, especially when you look at the statement for his fans where he asks what game to play after regaining health. And now he is just gone without doing anything of that.

Poor Violet... what awful news. And I thought he was on the mend... I remember cheering for him in the first game of the 2010 PL finals. He was a great player and by all accounts a fantastic guy.

In a week, it will be nine years since my father died of a generalized cancer, so I already felt like crap when I saw the post title on TL yesterday. First, I thought it was the SC2 player, then I discovered that BW had its own Violet as well. I don't know what to say... but what can be said in those moments? My thoughts are with you today. May you rest in peace after this long battle.
