FUCK. My cynical ass mind was right and this is one of the times I hate being right. I really wanted him to get back on the level he was when I discovered professional gaming (that being top 4 GSL code-S) and every time I saw him on MLGs and the likes I though "ok this is the time man, do it", but no.

This hurts, even worse than when Huk left. I started watching professional SC2 with GSL January when Jinro made the Ro4, and I watched every game at 1 o'clock in the morning with friends, cheering and biting my nails, hoping that he could pull it out. When I first fell in love with this game, Jinro brought me to Liquid, which is still my favorite team. He was my own personal idol, with Sen, and the player I couldn't wait to watch. I remember how unstoppable he was, how watching every game was a delight, knowing that he would show us something masterful.
I was one of those guys who searched for a way to go to any event I could meet him and the other Liquid players at, and I had always cheered him on in the qualifiers, thinking he was so close to getting back to Code A, to the final eight at MLG, or winning a Dreamhack. Seeing him retire is a little bit like seeing part of my own dream in SC2 die; I never wanted to be a progamer, nor did I have the talent/time for it, so Jinro was the one I found to carry forth my own hopes.
So to you Liquid'Jinro, I wish all the best in your poker career and life. I'm happy for all the time you gave SC2 and all your successes. Maybe you'll make a triumphant return someday, or maybe you'll be an inspiration to future Liquid and SC2 players. Bless.

It's sad to see any progamer go, but it sounds like this is the best thing for Jinro, so I'm happy for him.

Good luck with poker and everything else in life! I hope you stay active in this community and we continue to see you at events, but this time as someone just enjoying the scene.

You've been a big inspiration to many, as one of the few Westerners able to compete in Korea.

The only player who I have ever stayed up until 6 in the morning to watch their games for. I'll never forget your GSL runs and actually having hope for a foreign champion. Thank you.
