Looking at what you achieved in a relatively short amount of time and at the peak of your skill level is still way above at least 90% of the foreign scene, so though it does have a bitter aftertaste your results lacked afterwards - you got a lot to be proud of, of which the kick ass experience in Korea with an awesome team and its awesome team spirit is one of them ![]()

![]() Was having a feeling about this since i heard they were bringing ALL their players EXCEPT Jinro at the last major event TL went to. I found that way to suspicious ![]() Honestly thank u for all the memorable times u showed us and really wish u the best! Once a TL always a TL. The people I've met -- friends, acquaintances, fans -- and the life experience I've acquired in the meantime have helped me grow tremendously and I firmly believe I leave progaming a much better person than I was when I entered it. This pretty much sums up everything truly important to look at when retiring. Only a handful of ppl worldwide can reach this stage. Hats down to u!

It is obvious to see that you have made an impact in the scene more than most foriegners could ever hope. You were the first to break the GSL and you will always be remembered. Good Luck with Poker and the future.

But having read this, I felt a sort of relief he is experiencing and the only thing I feel missing now is that I know so little about this guy. Let love and passion be with you Jinro wherever you go.

I don't think there's much reason for sadness. You basically lived the dream for all us nerds not able to cross the skillgap. Hell you have a legacy being the first foreign hope! I hope you do consider casting in some form after your break from SC. A well-liked analytical caster from one of the biggest community websites... goodness you'd be in huge demand.

I am happy that you have been able to make a clear decision on such a hard thing. I hope the best in the future. I am glad you will be staying on TeamLiquid. I thank you for venturing out and tapping the potentials of mech play so many times, and showing how wrong people were about mech back then in GSL. You are an inspiration. I am appreciative of this message you have prepared for us. I have also hoped to see you come back in the GSL, but if I were in your shoes, I think I would feel bitter but ultimately thankful and glad for everything that's happened. You walked a strange path from what is commonly accepted in most of soceity, and you were actually quite successful. You were able to train in Korea, you reached the semi-finals in GSL twice, you won an MLG, etc. etc. I am glad that even though you are retiring, you are not retiring emptily, as you mentioned, but you can walk away with precious experience, newfound wisdom, and being content that you know you have tried your best and got the most of your progaming dream instead of giving up early and regretting it later in life. Thanks for everything Jinro, GL HF for the rest of life!
