I remember when Jinro made the code S semi final, he was up against MC on shattered temple.. and I witnessed something I had never seen before.. he went mech against MC and won.. was amazing to watch.

I saw that Jinro retired the first day, but I didn't read it until now because it was to painful for me to read about. I finally read the whole article and literally saddened me to have one of my favorite players retire from the game so early. I will not forget you Jinro and I hope you stick around TL!

I thought Jinro would end by saying that he was going to play poker professionally or something, but turns out it's basically the same reason for which he appeared to explain to the "latter group" why they are "wrong". Meh, But really though, if shit's not working out you should gtfo and do something you'll enjoy, that's a no fucking brainer.

Loved watching you play Jinro, thanks for the good memories.

I played poker full time for about a year almost 7 years ago and I can tell you it's very tedious and exhausting in the long run, even more so than Starcraft I'd say. I ended up making way less than minimum wage per hour for the entire duration of the year. Then again I had a fairly small bank roll as I was rather poor at the time which meant I could not play high enough stakes for the hours I put into it to yield a sufficient return on investment. I also lacked the raw talent needed to really get ahead.

I wish you the best of luck with your poker career, chances are you are far more mentally capable than me and as such you actually have a chance of making it work. I suggest you look in the mirror in a few months time however and do a reality check by evaluating your progress: "Do I have what it takes to make the effort and hours I put into this worth my while?"

I have the greatest respect for Jinro, as he did something we all desire: to pursue and fullfill our dreams. He was a figure on the Starcraft 2 scene, due to his acomplishments (that i watched live in GSL) and he was also popular because of his stream as well (that i also watched from time to time). But even without this, even without us knowing his performances, he would still have won the bet with life. His dream would have been acomplished even withouth those GSL semi's, and that is all that matters!

Good luck to you in the future, i look forward to a documentary of your carrer and of your choice to be a progammer, with all the impediments and hardships you overcomed!

Starcraft won't be the same without you Jinro. You've left a lasting impression in the hearts and minds of many sc fans, progamers and the Starcraft community. I know you'll never trully leave the Starcraft scene, I hope you'll still attened the events and make a casting appearance here and there. Thanks for all of your great games! You will be missed.
