Just wanted to advise you to keep the door open for the future. It's good to retire now, because I can tell from what you're saying that you're obviously burnt out, and if you keep chasing a dream you're not in love with right now you're never going to recover the passion you once had because you're just stacking fuel on the fire of burnout. but e-sports is only growing, you've got hoards of fans who will support you no matter what you do after seeing your heart and passion into those back to back round of 4 finishes, and when you take a year or two to look back on the scene from an outsider's perspective can change a lot emotionally and in terms of point of view and motivation. Although some of us are better at it than others, in general humans aren't built for repetitive behavior, and repetitive behavior is exactly what it takes to be the best in the world at something, and you see a lot of top athletes collapsing exactly under that pressure. Back in the day you rose quickly, and the skills you've learned in the past couple years never go away completely, even if they grow rusty. So yeah, retire now, but don't listen to anyone who calls you a quitter or tells you that your best days are behind you, and if the dream ever starts to itch again, remember there's MANY of us who would love to watch you rise again Remember Nestea's career. It would take something special to bring me back, but I'm not a rigid person and I'm open to circumstances changing. I would say it's unlikely, at best, though
Starcraft 3.
Because why not?

Sad to see you go Jinro. Good luck in the future!

jinro i wish you all the luck, especially if you decide on poker as your next pursuit
remember high level starcraft competition consists of 1 country's citizens fighting for at most $100k pots, with less than 2 decades of experience
high level poker consists of the world fighting for pots 10-1000x bigger, with more than a century of experience
whatever you think about skill cap in starcraft, poker is infinitely higher. whatever you think about the variance, well just look at any high stakes grinder graphs
in any case, hope you run good!

Jinro how are you going to train poker? Books? Other retired players like LastShadow? How good are your relations with Elky? XD
PLEASE RESPOND

Regardless of what is to be said about results, you made a fantastic contribution to the community, and you ran a stream that I really enjoyed to watch when the time lined up. Sad to see you go, but I wish you the best!

Never was a huge Jinro follower (I tend to stick to my zergs) but this is definitely big news. I'm glad you decided to retire before it became an even bigger burden. There is no reason to force yourself to do something when there are so many other options out there. You lived the dream many of us have had. Dreams don't die. There are just too many to keep up with every single one. Good luck to you!
