The example a poster gave about boxer's one is a very good one as that was a very well done doc that told a story. I enjoyed that immensely and felt tension for boxer's games even though I already knew the outcome of those. When I first started to watch it, I got excited, but after TLO's part ended and the next one started, I thought, wait is this really going to be a string of interviews 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc for 90 mins? When it turned out that was the case, I was disappointed. This is something that hot bid does all the time, just in a less serious way. Hot bid could have easily done a bunch of serious interviews and you would have gotten the same result as this documentary at a 1/10 of the costs. What I expected was that there would be more insider stuff shown. Talks in the team house. Following the players around mlg, ipl, etc. Showing players getting ready before matches and their reaction after matches. Instead what we got were just all sit down interviews that didn't even need to be done at the venues as the tournaments they were done at were barely, if at all talked about. As others have said, this would have been better served as just a mini web series with each player's part released over time. They're all pretty independent of each other, so it's not necessary to watch all of them in one sitting or in order. That is why it fails as a documentary. There's no overall story being told, so each segment can be watched on their own and it just ends up being a bunch of stand alone interviews back to back for 90 mins. One thing I don't understand is, I believe the director said he has hundreds of hours or hundreds of gigs of footage. Why does he have so much if his intention was just to do a bunch of sit down interviews? This documentary could have been shot in one day. Have all the liquid players at an event and then interview them 1 by 1 until it's done because in the end this is what the documentary ended up being, so all the following around to different events and korea ended up being wasted resources and a lost opportunity. According to the most reliable source in the world, a documentary is "intended to document some aspect of reality, primarily for the purposes of instruction or maintaining a historical record" so I guess your expectations were set too high. I always hate when they try to spin a story out of a real life situation in those other "mainstream" documentary films, I just want to hear the facts and what the people have to say, nothing else.

I laughed, I smiled, I watched seriously. After half an hour (Sheth part) I feel sober and want to say thank you. Can´t meet the player so I really love to get at least a bit insight in their personality. Didn´t want to donate money before spending, probably will after finishing. No other site/team I appreciate more for the content they give me. Thanks, now back to watching, hearing Artosis in the background :D Edit: MAYBE not the smartest thing in his life to punch a hole in the wall, maybe :D E2: Omg, just watched the part where Jinro slapped Hot_Bid, I literally loled. Nice drawing too, seems similar to Fishuuus style, but I´m not sure. To be honest the white background in the interviews felt a bit stale. I´m sure it was chosen that way to focus on the one getting interviewed. People walking behind them and a tree like in DjWheats parts seemed to be meant to break the stale part, but imo that only worked partly. It felt a bit clinic overall. Fe the Taeja background is much more appealing or Nazguls. Ok finished. To conclude: Sometimes felt a bit clinic but overall I really loved it. Gave me a great insight in the personalities and I especially enjoyed the EG/TL part. I feel like the friendly tension between these two teams create a awesome surrounding for hype and competition in tournaments overall. The different views on TL about Huk returning was interesting too. Never knew that Alex Garfield is quite young, that was really surprising :O

I enjoyed the documentary as did my gf who is an 'outsider', she had to ask me who was how a few times but other than that she followed along. I only wish we got a little more backstory on each player, ala REAL TALK, where they grew up, footage of their homes, training environments etc. I will donate $10 and I had fun watching it. highlights for me was MC saying he's not sure if Sheth knows it but he considers him a good friend. ![]() ps my gf was attracted to TLO and HERO which is very odd considering she generally likes long haired metal dudes.. what can I say though? TLO / HERO are handsome devils. ![]()

I feel like this documentary was pretty decent but I really didn't come away from it feeling like I had really connected with any of the players more than I already had. The bits with HerO winning DH were emotional but...I'd seen them before. Nonetheless it was good coverage especially if it were to be watched by someone new to the progaming scene. And this is a fantastic step by Liquid accomplishing something of this scale which has never really done before. I'd like to see some more depth into each personality, especially the Korean players because I know there's a lot of team interaction between guys like HerO and TLO, or Jinro and Haypro with the oGs guys, that we are missing because of the language barrier and stagefright influencing them when it comes to big event interviews and whatnot. Regardless, enjoyed it and donated $10. Thanks Liquid ![]()

The filming crew went to a bunch of different countries & everything but for what? I mean the "behind the scenes" or "a day in the life of" or "X players story during X tournament" were missing, & all the interesting things were TOLD to us & not shown ![]() Anyways, maybe my expectations were too high. Thanks for making it though, you guys are still my favorite team. Gotta agree with this. More behind the scenes footage would have really given the interviews more context.
