I think it's totally stupid, that Parting lost against MC. MC does nothing but executing, he never does never stuff or thinks about the game, simply executing. Parting on the other hand is such a smart player, reacting to what he sees and such. He just seems to be a little too greedy. (When your opponent allins PULL YOUR PROBES EARLIER game1). And sac the Nexus (game 2), though I have to say his micro was pretty impressive in game 2, he played so much better then MC T_T

You cant win by just being smart you have to execute your plans as well. It may not require a heavy load of thinking with what MC did to Parting but MC being able to determine that he will have a great chance in winning with what he did against Parting is pretty smart to me.

Umm, bullcrap. MC is the protoss that has innovated and popularized more Protoss strategies than anyone. Plus, MC is the one who reacted, Parting is the one who decided to take a risk an expand in PvP. He even had the superior build, and still lost. Yup that's definitely playing better.

MC's basically the innovator of X-gate timings, lol.

Parting is ... interesting. Having just watched his vJjakji games, I have to say I think he's definitely a very intelligent player. His style's very refined, and he knows how to play it well. I'm intrigued to see what he'll bring to the table.

I didn't say, that MC is stealing builds or that he doesn't create new timings. I'm saying, that MC pretty much always goes into a game with the mindset of killing the opponent at minute x no matter what he does. In every single game he did a 1 or 2base timingattack.

omigod GSL is SO good!

I want Nestea or DRG to win so Parting can beat them and solidify his new protoss godliness. If Parting keeps winning I'm switching to toss and using his builds.

I think the general feeling about most people is not that he sets minute x to kill them, but rather he sees the opponent's build and decides the best time to kill them.

In fact, I think you could argue he has a much greater understanding of SC than most. He not only plays near perfect at his style, but he knows the weaknesses of most builds he plays and exploits that weakness to its maximum potential. He knows when they will be susceptible and attacks with almost all-in agression in great timings. It isn't necessarily the most fun to watch, but you cannot argue it isn't successful.

I tend to agree, I wonder how much of the decision to go with that bust in was preplanned and how much due to Ganzi donating ~10 marines when MC expanded. My impression is that MC first decides to see if he can bust or not, then decides to go for the long game.

After all, his micro was good enough to kill Ganzi in G2 with a pressure build, so he hardly has to go fully all-in to exploit any weakness he sees. Kind of reminds me of how good Alicia was back in his prime (knocking MVP down to Code A with a 3-gate expand specifically).

MC also, is very, very confident in his micro/control and more than wililng to go all out with attacks that he shouldn't be able to win. That's a failing, which I think is common in Protoss and encouraged by the fact that good/bad FF can swing a battle so drastically. It makes it so hard for players to make those split second fight/flight evaluations, and more often than not their confidence just shines though and they fight (like Oz vs MMA, I can FF this! oh wait, that's too big, crap).

This is similar to when *every* TvT opened with each player trying to outmicro the other with a banshee harass, so maybe it's more of a pro-gamer trait.

Yeah but he played just 4 games, and 2 were PvPs. Parting did timing attacks too, he just lost so he had the chance to play more games. You guys are acting as if MC never plays a macro game or innovated anything that isn't a timing attack and it's not true.

If Nestea and MKP play each other in this group, I predict MKP winning. Nestea's late game has not impressed me for a while now.

e: I also have to wake up at 6:30 am tomorrow, and these games don't start till 2 my time. Damn you, GOM.

All this MC hate lol. If you know you can win early, why not? Macro games? He already destroyed Bomber with it. Maybe when he faces MMA you will see a macro game. Either way, if he wins a game early cue all the omg MC on all ins QQ, and when he wins long macro games cue the omg Protoss imba.

No one is ever satisfied with MC apart from his fans lol. Don't blame MC if the opponent can't last.

I hope for DRG and Nestea to advance, there need to be some zergs in ro8 so it is less boring.

If not both then I want neither, about time zerg start whining their way to buffs like protoss did :D
