Tree.Hugger's crazy theory that strats get invented in Europe and perfected in Korea seems to be holding a little water. Alongside Stephano's upgraded ling-festor in ZvT (no, I don't care that Nestea used it in three games in the past), Mutalisks are gaining popularity in Korean ZvZ a few months after they became common in the Western scene. Playing on macro friendly maps like Calm Before the Storm and Daybreak, Minseok and YuGiOh rushed ahead towards the Lair stage to get their fliers. And just like in the Western scene, one guy decided to stick with Mutas for too long after Infestors were out and lost; go figure?

Do people actually believe this?_?

Damn, I loved the writeup, but stuff like this si why we get dumbies saying that Koreans never innovate and are just mechanics bots. Mutas in ZvZ was popularized in Korea, by Nestea. Infestors you may have a point(but as you said it has been used in Korea before) but Mutas?

Hehehe, nitpicking aside awesome writeup. It just irks me that people act as if Koreans were incapable of innovation lol

Wow, I really enjoyed the Lucky interview, he seems like a really hardworking guy that people should not underestimate.

I look forward to Lucky's future and I hate to admit it, but I'll be cheering on Lucky over Naniwa.

'When a guy drops everything, ignores the fact that he doesn't have a team, flies to a foreign country with the attitude of "f*** it, I WILL make this work," it seems downright wrong to root against him. '

Truer words have never been written on TL! The only thing I love more than players who actually commit everything to get better is when it works out for players who commit everything to get better.

Go Sase! Go Naniwa!

I really appreciate these write ups.

It helps a lot maintaining continuity and building stories for the GSLs, or any tournament for which they are written for that matter. I wish the commentators would bring some of this style into their repertoire, either through not putting in the work or through the sheer workload they are under, this kind of summary and information would go a long way to bring perspective to the often times disjointed GSL casting.

Personally, there is no way I am not going to read these on Team Liquid, so I guess it does not make much of a difference, I will go into the matches having an objective point of view or summary to refer to. But honestly, if there is anything that I really want perhaps especially the Code A casters to focus on and bring into the picture, it would be this type of story telling and finding a common thread to highlight.

love ♥ the LosirA cat hugging a baneling at the bottom. Also, FINALLY a terran icon on the heading of the article instead of a LosirA cat or sad Zealot.

Good article as always. Really hope the foreigners do well and praise to fishuu for the new and improved Losiracat.

I really enjoy reading these articles. I felt the same warm feelings with the noted lack of rampant T/P/Z OP talk with the balanced race statistics.

Hopefully the season brings about some really epic games!

Great write up, but I'm still sad fOrGG and Sage have to play each other in the first round of Code A.

Loved old Losira cat but new one is amazing well done! Yeah the matchups I'm the most upset about are the same as you, fOrGG and Sage and JYP and SaSe. I'm personally hoping SaSe and fOrGG make it through but I am predicting the opposite. Only time will tell! Really frustrating thought to see 2 players that could make an amazing final face off so early
