I love DRG but I feel ever since his very charismatic appearance in foreign tournaments he has been vastly overestimated in strength compared to his Korean compadres. He has proven his strength in BO1 GSL team league match ups, but not in the main GSL.
Much like Puma, who has shown he isn't quite to Code S level in many of his Korean match ups.

In short: Bomber and Happy.

Also, I generally feel that Huk is estimated to win too often, but this time I do feel he can overcome Puzzle and July, although I'm rooting for July. Big guy doesn't have a lot of time left in SC and it would really be nice to see him get some accolades.

I sure as hell hope it's Taeja's breakout season. I love him in the korean weeklies and want to see him pull some of that crazy stuff in the GSL and win with it there too.

I think if we ignore Polt he'll start winning again just to spite those who abandoned him , or at least I hope that's how it works.

AOL is certainly more interesting for me this time around and with MKP sadly not in the top 8 it's anyone's tournament to win' I'm rooting for Curious but we'll see what happens.

PLEASE replace the format with a wider losira-cat!

Anyways I'm rooting for DRG and Oz. Oz is amazing and so is DRG, and if he can translate his amazing GSTL performance into GSL I think he'll be a top contender this season.

Enjoyable write-up!

I disagree with Wax that AOL is becoming a replacement Code A, the new Code A format has done wonders in terms of opening it up and offering new players the chance to shine, with the game quality sure to be higher with so much on the line. Perhaps today's amazing Code A game quality was a fluke, but if it carries on like that it will be the tournament to watch, not just something to see on the side.

If Bomber doesn't rape everyone and go 2:0 I'd be surprised.

Great article. One small mistake:

TLPD linked to the foreign zerg Killer rather than Sangho
I root for Euro Zergs, NA Protoss* and Korean Terrans. (Any North American who has beat a Korean Pro as Protoss counts as NA Toss)

So many good players, so few spots for advancement...Would like to see a good run from July.

AOL is certainly nice to see, but I would personally like to see the next season of GSTL. Anyone know when that starts?

I'm particularly fond of the round robin format the AOL has. It gives me a chance to view a lot of great players (they're the team aces after all, right?) face against each other. I'm always disappointed in Code A/S when two great players face each other early because I feel like it prevents me from seeing great games later in the tournament. But with the round-robin AOL, all the great players play each other!
