Regardless of what we think of their present skill, we're still gonna remember Rain for his epic win against Boxer at MLG, or Cruncher for knocking Idra out of TSL3. Socke just hasn't had that kind of luck in his career, and I can't help but feel bad that he hasn't had a great showcase match so more people will learn how good he is. This, this, so much this. I'm the biggest Socke fanboy ever and this is one of the main problems. His epic games tend to be kind of low key. He wins against a lot of very good players and plays a hugely interesting mix of styles, but he's just not getting the recognition. Unless you see him in Germany, where he has an enormous fanbase. One match that comes to mind is that one game on Desert Oasis at MLG last year that DJWheat went crazy over. Also, he had a great run at IEM Cologne this year. When he went up to the stage to play MC, the crowd was going batsgit crazy for him.
True, I did forget about that game, that was awesome. ^^ Yeah Cologne was why I brought up the Germany thing, because that's a pretty huge exception because everyone went crazy. :D

The funniest thing is, that many people know, that he is overlooked/underrated (he is one of the most mentioned people in the respective thread on TL), but they still continue to do so.
A prime example were the liquibets for the NASL match between him and Idra. On one side, you have a guy who absolutely hates ZvP and has it as his worst matchup. On the other you have a player, who has a wining percentage of 63% versus Z and defeated following Zergs in important tourneys in the last months: Nerchio (twice), Dimaga (twice), Sheth, Morrow, Ret, Darkforce, Slush.
Liquibet-Result? Idra ca. 8000 votes - Socke ca. 1000 votes.

Socke for me is pretty much cemented in my mind, along with Sjow and Squirtle, due to one specific event: the crazy three way tie in their group at IEM Colgone last year (IIRC, was an IEM event in Germany last year). It had Day9, Rotterdamn and TLO casting. And Socke, Sjow and Squirtle near the end of one day played for ages because they kept getting a three way tie, replaying, getting another three way tie, replaying etc. I think it was three or four rounds of that until Squirtle managed to break the tie. During the play you could see the venue slowly winding down behind the casters, cleaning crew standing around near the end. Casters had to give up and take turns rotating out of casting during the marathon tie. It was so ridiculously awesome, and silly at the same time, to watch. :D

morrow's style (i didn't see the games actually but from what i saw in his stream) is very weak to gateway timing push. If he did his usual style i'm not surprise that a bad player like hwansin crushed him, even though Morrow is incredibly good.

For all the talk about how great New Jerseyans are, G&G failed to mention how physically attractive everyone from New Jersey is

demuslim is getting way too much credit here. His throught proces is: "oh shit whitera is expanding. i have to attack soon and hopefully it will be before storm. Oh there are 2 more medis, now i go attack him."
Really this is the throught proces of the average diamond player. Nothing esp. there. when your getting interviewed you do your best to sound more intelligent. Dont fall for that trap.

G&G failed to mention how physically attractive everyone from New Jersey is; an oversight like that is tremendously unprofessional and I hope I don’t have to sit through something like that again.
You must come from the shore!

That's an excellent point. New Jerseyans' beauty often draws to its shores less attractive people from neighboring states, such as Ms. Polizzi, of Marlboro, New York.

“I saw his natural going down, and I saw a Probe transfer going over to the third, and that immediately made me know that I have to push with four Medivacs as the other two are twenty percent done, and then I’ll hit a timing just before Storm’s done.”
Lol. DeMuslim is such a charming lad.
