Maybe if you have supported a sports team rather than a specific player than you would understand, also to add to the fact EG's reputation. Kinda like Man City eh?

I wasn't the biggest fan of HuK since his controversial ceremony way back in GSL, and grew a dislike for EG for their aggressive, obtrusive marketing and bad handling of PR. Even this case, which they seemed to have tackled with all the care they could muster, paints them as rather angsty in my eyes. On the other hand they'd be the strongest team with IdrA, DeMusliM, HuK. A true all-star lineup all gathered in one place, which is needed if we seriously want to beat the Koreans and end up with a competitive field that remains interesting in the long term, though there were some doubts that he'd end up being a lazy bum, in accordance with the reputation of other EG players. Now it turns out that not only will he not be staying in the north American house, but he'll take IdrA away from it as well, reducing the range of opponents and pool of skill the others can draw from (cross server play is possible, but doesn't compare to living and playing from the same place). Now I'm still/again not sure what to think of it. I was ready to cheer for this move, but is it really the best one for EG? When will the other players join these three in Korea?

When you get good at something, you're expected to get paid for how good your ability is, no matter who is giving the paycheck. Everyone draws out EG to be the bad guy in this, in reality they chose very standard sport-team practice of buying top teir players, without the risk of having to develop the players. If you really hate Huk and or EG for this, I'm sad for you. I truly am, as you'll never quite enjoy what this announcement truly is. An advancement of a fellow friend, in their career. <3 HuK FIGHTING! it's pretty common in any sports really.. people tend to hate the team that throws around cash and just buys the best players instead of trying to grow their own

I continue to have huge amounts of respect for both EG and Liquid for all they've done for the sport despite what others might choose to believe or think (and who am I to tell them any different, everyone is entitled to believe what they wish and have their opinion). It was great to see you go out on a high in Code S with TL and that you'll be kicking off your EG career in Korea with a huge match vs Nada. GL HF to all.

But because it's EG, his fanboys are QQing Well Millenium nor VT were as big a team as Liquid and back then HuK wasnt as big as a sucess as he is now... So what ? It's still exactly the same thing, exept on a larger scale.

So sad. Not mad. Not glad. HuK still have a Korean pad? Or HuK in GSL only a fad? Still idra's Dad.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() So Team Liquid is the hub for the blossoming sc2 scene right now. Once they have had time to stabilize and monetize I hope they can match the offers from teams like EG.

Players aren't just single entities anymore, they are members of teams and people need to support those teams rather than their players. This is how it works in most other team-based sports. I don't support Real Madrid just because Ronaldo went there, I still support Man United. An Arsenal fan doesn't suddenly support Barcelona because Fabregas has gone there, they still support Arsenal... Also, I think that the presence of player transfers in this sort of manner is great for eSports. It makes everything seem more... legitimate. But SC2 isn't a team game. That's why it gets weird. TL really needs a new star now. Depends how you look at it. GSTL exists. EG Master's Cup exists. Other such team leagues exist. I take your point, though... because I really only support Protoss players ![]() Well sure, GSTL and some minor tournaments. That's not where the money is though. It's in the advertising and sponsoring. Hence you need high profile players. EG now has Idra AND his "biggest rival" on their roster. Hello money rolling in....... I know you understand but I still wanted to reiterate.

He is a much bigger player now than Idra. Why highlight their rivalry. Huk joining EG IS the news, not Huk joining his rival under one team!
