GL regardless Huk, my fav foreigner. No. No they haven't. When's the last time you gave teamliquid money for anything? It's not like there's magical money cloud.
You don't need to get money directly from your visitors to make a small fortune on a website. TL gets a lot of visitors.
That said, if huk is really getting an astronomical amount of $, I can see TL's reticence to matching. However, they're going to have to throw down serious $ eventually to stay competitive unless they go the small ball route.

what i hate most is egs vicious recruiting processes. They just throw fucking money at everyone.

They just offer money to people playing games so they can play games professionally while making a damn good living for themselves.
Evil!

I never thought I'd see this day. I guess when you have money, you can make a lot of big things happen. I won't say I'm not a fan of EG, but I feel like they'll end up just buying all the good players...which in my book is kind of low, but hey, it's a business.
Good luck to HuK, Liquid', oGs, and EG. HuK fighting! ESports fighting!
|
Initially I was a bit bitter. I've grown to dislike EG and the way they conduct just about anything, but if they can improve the lives of their players (like HuK) and hopefully their play at the same time...guess I should feel glad for them.
Sad to see him leave Liquid. GL in the future HuK.
|
This does not affect how I feel about HuK as a person or as a player at all. It's a smart business decision considering how much EG seems to be paying him. Remember that this is his career and not just some hobby.
I'm just a little bit afraid that this is bad for HuK's practice considering he won't be living in the oGs house training alongside MC.
|
I really hope HuK has fantastic, world changing results(foreigner GSL win) as an EG player, just like I hoped he would have as a Liquid player. That said, I really see this as a downgrade for his foreseeable playing career unless EG acquires some sort of partnership. The practice he can get with Idra/Puma will just not be the same as he could in a house full of quality and diverse player matchups.
I really, truly hope the money was worth it, because I can't fathom how this is the better decision for HuK the player and not just Chris Loranger the guy trying to make a living(which I have nothing against btw, if that's his only impetus for the decision it is still 100% fine).

A vicious recruiting process that left Huk dripping sweat onto his contract while they forced his hand to sign his name.
Evil!

He goes by EG.Huk instead of Liquid.Huk now. Still the same guy, still the same player. I could understand your sentiment in a teamsport, maybe, but Starcraft is 1v1. It's really not going to make much of a difference.
supoprting a player on a team, supports the team they're on. some people have team loyatly and dont want to support the other team.

Eg is becoming one very scary team.

I was kinda pissed Huk joined EG, but after i found out Idra is moving back to korea, im pretty happy. I mean Idra was sucking bad in NA, glad hes going back to regain his skill level, and train along with puma and huk.

EG has done a ton for their team. They just bought a huge house dedicated solely to helping their assets train.
