Of course you have to live in Korea to be the best player in the Global - don't be silly. That being said, NASL doesn't make sense because they aren't trying to figure out who's the best player in north america. It's also trying to find global winner It's the Global Starcraft League because that's what it used to be. Korea was the mecca of starcraft. As the days go on, that name gets less and less appropriate.

That being said, NASL doesn't make sense because they aren't trying to figure out who's the best player in north america. It's also trying to find global winner that's like saying you have to live in england to win wimbledon. False assumptions are false. You can play starcraft anywhere in the world, why does a so called "global" tournament require all their players to live in a single country? Yes grandfinals should be held in Korea, no doubt, but by making the tournament ardously long, what you end up with is a near impossible barrier to entry for many foreigners.
