(I mean honestly if you walk around with a ball in your arms, how can you possibly call it football?) How someone could think of ice hockey when they see the legendary name Messi made me a little sick though. Hockey is a family of sports, involving both ice hockey, land hockey and bandy. Ice hockey by far being the most popular. So yeah.. if someone says hockey, they probably mean ice hockey. Some countries simply don't care for / have little interest in some sports, it isn't a difficult concept. I don't know what sports are popular in your country, but if you didn't know Babe Ruth or something because nobody cares about baseball there, I couldn't care less. (actually I don't care for baseball myself, but that's besides the point) Anyway, funny interview from HuK, glad he's made it into Code S. Shame his games so far have been really underwhelming, hopefully he can live up to his potential more in his Code S games. I did think the same of July, after all, and he's in the finals now, so...

by extension they were questioning TeamLiquid's judgement in deciding to put him on their team. well guys... it looks like TL sorta might kinda know what they're doin' Congratz to HuK/GosuStarcraft and good work to TL.Net... any team can offer Boxer or FruitDealer a contract ... that's an easy decision to make... congratz on TL.Net's decision to put HuK on their team and send him to Korea.

Also what is probably referred to here is icehockey which is something different then hockey... different sports have different names in different parts of the world. "Football" in north america is already used to desbribe these sports http://www.NFL.com and http://www.CFL.ca neither of these organizations are prepared to give up the word "football" here is an indication that "Soccer" will continue to be used to describe this sport http://www.NASL.com in North America "Hockey" is assumed to mean "Hockey played on ice" and in other parts of the world its called "Ice Hockey" hence, in North America we have the http://www.NHL.com notice its not NIHL ![]()

Considering soccer is the most played/ watched sport in the world it does matter. Comparing Babe Ruth in a sport that only a few countried play to Messi is way off base.

This isn't really correct. The whole class of games is called football, and the original 'football' was supposedly not played by kicking the ball (It resembled Rugby the most). Probably called football because you played on your feet. There is: Association Football - Also called Soccer, or just 'Football' to most of the world Rugby Football - Called 'Rugby' Gridiron Football - The sport most Americans call 'Football' Australian Rules Football - Aussies. ![]()
