PokerStrategy.com TSL3 Qualifier #8 Details
Who can play? Anyone with a NA account who does not live in a country assigned to the Korea or Taiwan server can participate. More specifically, players living in Korea, Taiwan, or China cannot participate. Players living in the SEA countries can participate.
How do I register? Registering for TSL3 Qualifiers is the same as registering for the TeamSpeak TL SC2 Open. You will be able to register with your TL account on Friday, Feb 25 1:00am GMT (GMT+00:00). You will need to fill in your NA Battle.net account information to tie it to your TL account.
How do I qualify? There are 16 EU/NA qualifier spots. Winning a TL SC2 Open tournament (1st place) ensures that you qualify for the TSL3. Placing second to sixteenth earns you qualifier points. There are eight TL SC2 opens. Each of the eight winners will earn a TSL3 spot. Eight more players who have the most qualifier points will also qualify.
How many of the eight TL SC2 Opens can I play? If you meet the registration requirements, you can play all eight tournaments. You will need access to an EU and NA account to play all eight. It is fine if you borrow a friend's account, but there will be no account sharing during tournaments, as this causes unacceptable delays.
Example: Player A borrows Player B's EU account to play in TSL3 Qualifier #1. Player B cannot play in TSL3 Qualifier #1 unless he has access to a different account. This is to ensure that the tournament does not have delays. Two players cannot play on the same account for the tournament.
If I earn points with different Battle.net accounts, are they added together? Yes. Qualifier points are credited to the TL user, not the Battle.net account. As long as you fill in your Battle.net account information correctly, you will be awarded the points.
Can I play in more TSL3 Qualifiers after I win one? No. Once you win a TSL3 Qualifier you cannot play in any more. If we discover that a player was secretly playing in TSL3 Qualifier tournaments after winning one, that player will forfeit his TSL3 spot and be disqualified.
Can I smurf or help my friend qualify by playing on his account? No. Playing for another player is cheating. Two players cannot combine their results -- all qualifier points must be solely earned by one player. If we discover that a player was posing as someone else, both players will be disqualified.

I really hope sjow wins it and killer, select, strelok and mana get enough points to qualify and team liquid randomly invites dimaga because hes on form atm and hes learned his lesson:D
Select better get into the TSL, he's a beast.
I'm hoping catz takes it by beating kiwikaki in the finals. That way, they both qualify! :D

seconded. sorry if i do zeerax any unjustice, but it would be quite a joke if he qualifies for the tsl while one of these 4 players doesnt....
btw i just now understood what a huge importance the semifinals of select vs qxc 2 weeks ago had.
I hope minigun plays in this.. he's only played in 1 so far afaik O_O
Looking forward to the final Quali tournament. Great drama. This format has been a fantastic success. Bravo Team Liquid! I hope that in the future you can run a similar qualification process for Korea.

Because punishment is overrated and TL should start handing out rewards instead. You know to really make the lesson stick.

In order to qualify for TSL 2, you had to participate in the custom ladder. You were allowed to play anyone (within a few rules) and the top X players would qualify.
Dimaga laddered on his main account as well as a second account. He then got a friend to play him on the second account, and purposefully lose, so he could get a few extra free points. Several people were caught cheating in this way by IP matching and were banned from all TSL events for 12 months as well as TSL 3.

am i the only one who noticed its a 2048 player tourny this time around instead of the usual 1024?
expect a sick field of players who haven't qualified yet. Kinda wish the official tlnet casting would be more than just from semis on for this one. gl all (although more gl to kiwikaki^^)

That would be great, or even better drewbie winning the finals, with somehow both Kiwi and CatZ getting enough points to qualify Either way gonna be exciting to watch, good luck all players
This is our last chance. I'll compete in this one too. TeamLiquid fighting!

Yeah, wouldnt mind seeing some coverage from at least one level earlier than usual. The finals should be totally nervewracking this last time, so much at stake.
I keep checking the list of preregistered players and no ones there yet There has to be some signups this is make or break time, and all the other qualifiers started to fill up the day of. Hopefully they show us who is signing up soon
Select and Kiwikaki for 1st and 2nd respectively :3
Sjow really needs to take this down. :/
This qualifier is gonna be silly stacked lol. Look at all those players with barely enough or below the qualifier cutoff, so many good players are going to be fighting for those last couple of spots. This is going to be sick.
The previous TLOpens were already pretty stacked, but I guess this one will be unbelievable. So many GREAT players have not qualified yet!
On a side note, I really love this qualifying process. It rewards both one time huge performances and consistency throughout qualifiers. And the pressure on the not yey qualified players keeps increasing, making every Open even more tense than the last. GL TL!

I noticed. Crazy number... it makes sense since it is the last qualifier and also because the previous one was full or very close to full (1024, some haven't been)
I'd like to see KiWiKaki and SeleCT qualify for TSL!! It's gonna be a very tense tournament regarding the ladder points.
How do you actually sign up for these? I never really understood the explanations from the OP. Apologies ahead of time for my stupidity.
I can't wait to see who ends up qualifying in this :D

Well registration is not open, but when it opens there is going to be a header that says 'TL Open #xx registration is now open, click here to register". Thats the easiest way to register imo. You will be asked for your Character code as well as as your name on Bnet and your race.

Just curious as to what would happen if say morrow and mana face off in the Ro8/16 and morrow already has the points and wants mana his teamm8 to qualify so he throws game/forfeits, whats TLs opinion on that?
Really hope Kiwi finally qualifies... I can imagine he will prepare some pretty great builds to reveal for TSL3.
is it still possible to apply for a spot to cast and stream the early matches?
it is 8:06 and I don't see registration. Anyone?

Stupid... for some reason it wouldn't let me register.
Now I'm on the outside looking in due to some glitch...
Meh I was 4 minutes late for check-in!!! =( It was hard waking up so early after GSL last night...
