As you may know, the SC2 Beta will be going down for a few weeks within the next 24 hours. Some of you may suffer withdrawal, aimlessly wandering around the internet in search of something to do. But fear not gentle users, we will provide a temporary diversion. During the TL Beta Vacation, TeamLiquid will organize a series of fun, community-oriented events for you to bond with your fellow user over some great games and entertainment.
It is strongly suggested that you sign onto TL's IRC Channel, #teamliquid on Quakenet, to chat while viewing these events.

You posted these in PDT? Man, that's so cool! I don't know which to look forward to more... but I'll say it's the "campfire" stories because I don't have to wait for so long
I beat a Chinese guy once :O He was really nice except he didn't GG cause he made way too many stlakers. I'm POSITIVE he was no pro-gamer though. Chill's story should be fun.
If Nal_Ra eps. 10 and 11 are going to be released after the OSL prelims, can the mods keep the spoilers at bay? I can't wait to see the exciting conclusion.

I just look at the downtime as preparation. Use this time to study the strengths and weaknesses of yourself, as well as different units. This should be pretty fun!

Are the oldboy episodes also goign to be streamed or can we download them on megaupload and watch them there, since with the potential of 10k+ viewers, I can't imagine hours of streaming it will go perfectly, plus I always pause and rewind the videos lol.

I'll put em up afterwards on the tracker and file hosting websites.
lol wow nice! Im only 13 and not as mature so I'm taking this as a real camp! if only summer already started =( everything above looks interesting, bookmarked
I say TL should do some friendly game tournies and matches of other games while the beta is down. Like Super Smash Bros Brawl (exchange friend codes) or for more convienance we could play Team Fortress 2, or how about Toooriiiibaaaaaaaaaaaaaash!!!!
Toribash a free open source game on PC, Linux, and Mac
Wow, I finally had time to watch the oldboy series. Just watched ep1 and 2. Pretty sure I'll run out of eps well before sunday at this rate. Never expected it to be so cool. Big thanks to the translator team^^
Thank you Team Liquid, can't wait for those Oldboy episodes! If anyone hasn't seen the current ones then I urge you to watch them, if only for a priceless moment involving a 2 hour walk and "ducks"
This is actually my 1st post on a TL forum, and i'm about to ask a probably very stupid question. My forum-searching skills have gotten pretty low lately due to the lack of practice :D ... I'm also kinda new to the whole Starcraft community so i haven't been exploring TL.com for months. I'm very interested in this friday night event ''campfire stories'', but i will unfortunatly be unable to watch (or hear) it live. How does it work in here... will the .mp3 be available for download soon after? will it be available at all ?
Please forgive my frenchiness and my extreme noobi-ism.

Edit: Oh nevermind, I found the thread with more episodes. Can't wait for the new ones!
Well this mostly concerns the Oldboy episodes, which are also available on youtube... I would have liked to know how long after the live play the campfire stories will be available for download ... and i'm guessing it'll be posted on the forum so i won't ask the ''where will it be'' question again.
On June 10 2010 03:49 drakes1988 wrote: where exactly will these shows be streaming on? what website? i think someone said on irc? how do u watch a stream on irc?
The streaming will be done via livestream or another streaming system, the link will be posted at the time of the event.
IRC is a chat platform where most of the TL users watching will hang out and converse with each other while the stream goes on. It's much more fun talking and reacting with everyone while watching these things.

Daynine!! How could you!! All 2227 of us. (Gotta wonder what people who joined after the rickroll were thinking... "Wtf I thought this was the campfire stories")

"Man a fuckin Monkey could play that game ya know, Like you got a lvl 20 Suck a Dick verse a Level 50 Who gives a fuck" -Surfer4Life on WoW.
Haha great work teamliquid staff, Day's story was epic, chill and artosis were good, and surfer4life pleasantly surprised me with some good points and nice insight, and just his one-of-a-kind personality .
Just when you think that TL can't continue to deliver... Honestly, I give up trying to doubt you, TL. You're all too awesome. Keep on doing the great work you do.
The loser's bracket is only a partial one though, and as it might be confusing, the very last bracket on the page at the very bottom titled "CompUSA GameFixx Season 1" refers to a different online tournament.
I liked the Artosis story. Couldn't even finish the surfer4life. Was just so boring. Not my cup of tea I guess, since I saw a lot of comments liking it. Saving chill and day9's stories for another time.
Great music in Day[9] video, does anyone know the names of those songs? Especially the song that kicks in when Timmy starts his first game, it's just so awesome
and again TL shows why its the best community on the web.
always delivers and surprises. grrrreat stuff. big thx to evryone involved <3
day9 was the best ofc. sooooo goooood. the voice(s),the music, evrything just perfect. was sitting in the park listening to it and was giggling like a idiot all the time. so awesome
This was so great, i wish there were more podcasts like this :D I love hearing stories like Chills and artosis'. very entertaining
Surfer's interview was great! Ive only heard about him and seen his name here and there so ive never seen any of his replays, but it seems like ive missed out on something.
Day[9]'s story was so fucking hilarious, i loved the storytelling!
This was amazing was up all night listening to this.
And I loved the Artosis story. But while I was listening to that I was playing another game and forgot that it had switched to chill's storie. So I'm sitting at my computer going WTF, Artosis eating chicken Sanwiches in SK, that doesn't make sense. Then ofcourse I realised it was Chill's story and not Artosis. It had me worried for awhile. The day0 story just had me giggling the whole time and at some parts just laughing so hard.
The Surfer4life interview wasn't really intresting to me, I find it hard to take someone who treats an interview like an old Tarantino flick seriously. I swear every other word I heard in that interview was fuck.
I really hope surfer's interview wasn't real. If he's a real person, he has narcissistic personality disorder, and people shouldn't feed that problem by giving him a mic. I don't really care that you can pwn on an imbalanced map. Oh and also, plz don't speak so passionately about politics that you obviously don't know much about, it's irresponsible.
But if he's not real that was an epic troll I <3 you team liquid!
On June 12 2010 05:06 FortuneSyn wrote: OK so what was the deal with surfer4life. Who was actually doing the voice?
That was Surfer4Life.
Okay, but how is he a known player? I've never heard of him.
He is a like a known BGH (and sometimes low money) player, I used to play a little bit of BGH with him for laughs. His antics are ridiculously retarded but at the same time hilarious as hell. I guess you can say.. You have to know him to know why he was on the event.

Sorry for the double post but, what you heard on the interview is like 50% of him. He gets insanely more retarded in the way he talks and his mannerisms LOL.
Thanks for this. Good listening, all of them was really entertaining and I was surprised at the production value on day9s story - awesome! I really enjoyed the content of chills and artosis recordings.
S4L interview was entertaining as expected. Couldn't stand a few minutes of the Day9 story. Artosis story was meh whatever. Chill's was better than Artosis but same kinda thing.
It is unfortunate that I do not grasp enough of the context of S4L to get the entire point of that interview, but the rest was absolute gold. Team Liquid never fails to impress, the effort that goes into this community by so many is remarkable. Even if we the masses do not really provide anything concrete in return, I hope that our gratitude can at least make it worth your effort.
Surfer4life seems like a nice, down to earth guy. You can see in this ICCup thread, when complications arise, he is very helpful and generally very civilized about his response. For some people, their motto in life is something like "Let's work together, and we can solve anything. All for one and one for all." It's the type of thing that just makes you want to go home and improve yourself from the bottom up. GJ with the interview, btw.

"The Boy and His Game" is awesome stuff mister 9. Esp. entering the cave and the incumbent champion. I lol'd so hard at every twist. A carefully crafted piece of entertainment if ever there was one.
I couldn't stop laughing at Timmy's story. I also linked a couple of friends that don't even know the game and they had a good laugh as well. I'm putting this one on my mp3 player! All the stories were good however.
On June 15 2010 22:25 wideye wrote: Something I am unclear about: is the beta closed for good until release or is it "on vacation" and will return in a couple weeks?
It's "on vacation", but I too would like to know when it's coming back. They said "some weeks before the release of the game", but if anyone knows a more specific date: I'd love to know.
Also, The Boy And His Game is a stroke of genius. I lol'd.
- one of Day9's minions sounds like the Acolyte/Shade from WC3. "Indeed". - overwhelmed is pronounced like "cool whip" from Family Guy - Day9 adorns himself with gold and diamond? Hahaha Sean "Liberace" Plott j/k.
Ok I've got the rankings of the four recordings in terms of awesomeness: + Show Spoiler +
