Fantasy PL 09-10 R4 Signups

Play Fantasy Proleague! It's fun, easy, and makes watching Proleague much more exciting. You don't need to spend any time on managing your team during the season if you don't want to. If you don't fully understand the rules, don't worry. The basic thing to remember is, pick players for your "Main Team" that you think will do well, and pick players for your "Anti Team" who you think will do poorly.

How to Play
- You choose 6 players and 1 Pro Team that score points when they play well.
- You pick 3 players that lose you points when they play well.
- Players and teams can be traded between weeks for those valued less than them.
Team Selection
Main Team
+ Show Spoiler [Click to Show] +- Pick 6 players for your Main Team, including a captain who will be a tiebreaker
- Pick 1 Proleague team (i.e. STX, CJ, SKT, etc.)
- You cannot trade your captain (more on trading later)
- Your 6 players and 1 Proleague team cannot exceed 30 points in cost
- Your Main Team must contain at least one of each race at all times
Anti Team
+ Show Spoiler [Click to Show] +- Pick 3 players for your Anti Team
- These players score points like Main Team players, but their score counts against you
- Your Anti Team must have a value of at least 13 points (minimum)
Basic Team Selection Strategy
+ Show Spoiler [Click to Show] +- Pick players for your Main Team who you believe will exceed their point value from last round (underrated or rising players)
- Pick players for your Anti Team who you believe will do worse than they did last round (overrated or slumping players)
- Designate as Captain a player who you believe will be a lock to be good throughout the season, because you can't trade him
Trading
Trading Rules
+ Show Spoiler [Click to Show] +- Each week you can trade players (swap a player for someone you don't have)
- Every player has a trade value, and you can only trade for players of lower value
- You will be limited to a maximum 2 Main Team and 1 Anti Team trades per week
- Trades do not carry over if unused
- Each time you trade, your team will be assessed a -1 point trade tax
Basic Trading Strategy
+ Show Spoiler [Click to Show] +- Check lineups each week! Players in the lineup are usually more valuable.
- Don't make trades just for sake of making trades, as they cost you trade tax points and you may get stuck with a player you don't want
- The trade price formula takes into account number of matches remaining -- so players with more matches remaining will have higher prices
- You must trade for players with less value, but try to minimize the value loss. For example, if you trade someone worth 30 for someone worth 20, next week you can only trade the 20 for someone less. It's much better to trade the 30 for someone worth 29.
Groups
You will be able to create and join groups so you can compare your results with a smaller subset of the players, for example there might be a Staff Group, a First Time FPL Group, a USA Players Group, or a group created by you with just your friends.

I assume that a player on your anti also scores against you if his team wins, in the same way that a main team player will score in your favor if his team wins?

Hey, would it be possible in the future to implement trading so that it can be done in batches, rather than one by one?
For example, say I have two players each worth 5 points. I'd like to trade them for a player worth 9 points and a player worth 0 points. Supposedly I should be able to do this since 5 + 5 > 9 + 0, but the way the system is, it isn't possible.

This time I tried to find some balance between making a team out of players I like while still trying to maintain reasonable chances in the competition. (apologies to Reach, Sea, free, Iris, Hwasin, Upmagic, Backho, and pretty much the entire ACE team for not getting them)
We'll see how we fare.

The last time I put killer @ my anti team after Boxer Nuked him, killer is on fire.
Then I put Firebathero as my anti team, he is on fire.
I put Bisu as captain, he disapoint me  Actually I put full SKT T1 as team, all fail for me.
This time I am so confused. Considering put flash as captain, but scare he will slump if I put him as captain.

Nothing, I personally think Shuttle (YoongJoon) is one of the best Protoss players right now. He can take out all of the best Protoss players easy, can take out every Zerg player too, but he has some trouble with Terran.
Shuttle (YoongJoon) has amazing macro and storms in PvP, really good shuttle/reaver micro, storms, and harassment in PvZ but his PvT isn't at the same level, although it is not bad. I think Shuttle has shown us amazing skills so far for not so many games, 75% vP, 60% vZ and 48% vT, that is very good.

Was considering putting Jaedong instead of Leta, but i needed that extra point for 815. I think Leta will do just as well.
Since Grand Line is one of the new maps, I imagine Stork will have a monster time.
WeMade was pure hope. they're my 2nd favorite team (next to KT Rolster. but they're too expensive. :<)
as for anti, movie and roro i predict aren't gonna do as well as they have been.
skyhigh might hurt me, but i'm willing to take the risk.

In recent games YoonJoong has lost to n.Die_soO, SangHo, and Jaehoon, all players that are only notable for the fact that they're fucking awful at bw, but on shitty enough teams to be put into the a-team.

to be fair, kal has also lost to those said players plus hyuk and shine. but i agree that shuttle will be competing against kal so it's hard to put him on the team

Now that Proleague rules did change I decided to open my thought why I did pick these guys.
Pressing Hard
Main Team
4 Baby
Obvious choice, Showing a lot of skill in MSL and OSL gives my spot for good results for Proleague success too. Have to remember now that they can send more terrans and zergs, Baby is most certain one of they key factors scoring points for Wemade team.
3 Best
Cheap choice for strong protoss who I think is much better all-around protoss than other players. So unpredictable and does not afraid anyone. Has good PvZ and PvT and decent PvP but most likely he will face a lot of zergs.
7 Effort
Benefits secret lineups. Very versatile player with strong ZvP and decent ZvZ. Still I worry about ZvT because it might be his primary matchup but I have hope that Effort somehow shows how job is done playing those new maps.
3 ForGG
For three points ForGG is obvious pick. Almost guaranteed points from KT winning matches and more playtime now that they don't have to play protoss that often.
3 Great (captain)
Cheap player for captain that I don't have to change. Great usually has lot of playtime, especially Winnersleague he got good amount. Why not now too? I expect his value go up to 5 points at least.
7 Zero
Must pick. Almost guaranteed playing spot now that they don't have to play terrans that often. Though 7 points is costly but he is chosen as ACE player so often that a must pick always for my team.
3 CJ Entus
They are out of the slump. Gone is weak protoss players and here comes zergs. Their team is so solid (Winnersleague was fail) and now that players have to earn their spot for lineup I bet there is no fillers anymore.
Anti Team
2 Flying
He is not going to get playtime and ESTRO usually doesn't win that often. Good pick for Anti team.
9 Leta
I hope that Hite Sparkyz sucks this season and Leta goes horrible slump . I don't think he will do that good now that he might face more zergs than normally he does.
2 SangHo
Risky pick as he might get playtime but I can't pick other weak guys from other team because I like to keep Anti team and Normal team guys separated.

SKT1 sent Bisu on another "paid vacation", like the one they sent him on durring his previous slump. He roard back last time and reasserted himself as a domanant programer. SKT1 is hoping for a simmilar result this time

Kwanro is almost guaranteed perform at $5 worth, so he might not be good for AT

I would suggest not putting Kwanro and Shuttle on your anti-team, they will most likely perform well.

Kwanro and YoonJoong are going to do their job for their price, so they are not fit for AT
For a 1 pointer, choose someone who will be sent out at least since there's no loss for losing. You can also choose a 1 pointer from KTR, MBC, or STX since they will rack up on team win points.

I checked how many games each player played in the recent 2010 Shinhan Bank Winners League (I know its not PL but it still shows their recent performances and playtime / importance to their team) and calculated their win percentages. I hope this helps people newer people out.

Ive noticed the team selections are stacked lately... and where is bisu on the selection? I knew he was on break,but for ALL R4 as well? I would select him at a reduced price since we all know hes mega slumping^^

Hot_Bid, I love you. I will give your name to my future son. One thing I don't get. Why no Bisu on the list ? Yes he is in leave, but he will very certainly come back. And a lot of players can be select from the list who are not even on their teams rosters and will never come back (July...). Is it only because Bisu is Bisu ?

I'd say the best 3 pointers besides Shuttle/Stats would be ForGG, Great or Best. The reason is because those 3 players will normally always be played, they are fairly good players and will be used a lot I think.
Players like Firebathero, Action, Shine, Ruby and Jaehoon are not that reliable, they will probably be around 35-50% win rate, where the others might be more like 45-55% win rate.

The reason they put Effort (I have also) is because Effort's ZvT has been soooooooo bad lately, he wins like 2 out of 10 ZvT's now, hes horrible at it atm. His ZvP is still hella strong, and his ZvZ is decent, but right now hes kind of slumping, he has been for awhile... That's the reason CJ went bad in WL because Effort normally will carry the team, so if he plays the bad, the team plays bad.

Really strong team man, nice job. But that anti-team.. ouch.. Shuttle is playing so amazing lately, I doubt he will drop many games at all. Jangbi's PvZ has been on fire too, his PvT/PvP not as good so you might not regret that as much, and I have Killer on mine too, hopefully he doesn't come out and play great.

CJ Entus has been doing really bad lately and you can afford Woojing Stars for same price and Woonjing Stars has really good roster and has been doing extremely well.

i've been thinking of having baby on the main team. wouldn't fox want baby to focus more on the osl and msl? i mean they have mind and midas for T's so they might just have baby as their last resort rather than a regular and ace player.
unless baby can manage all 3 leagues like flash/jd have in the past

Players: Baby's on a mega-hot streak right now, Light's a proleague monster, and Zero is just so gosh-darn adorable. As far as the rest of my team goes, after Midas 2-0'd his MSL group that included Flash of all people, I have a feeling he'll at least get a ton of playing time behind Baby, if nothing else, and for 2 points, he can very easily earn it back with a couple wins. Best is mostly on there because he's a reasonably safe play and I needed a Protoss, and ForGG is there because he'll get playtime, and KT will get wins, and he's cheap.
Team: This is mostly team loyalty more than anything else, but I think behind the surging Baby, resurgent Midas and at least somewhat decent Pure, WeMade is going to be at least respectable this season. We'll see.
Anti: All-Toss anti ftw! Bisu is extremely overpriced for a player who's essentially over the hill, and he performed terribly last Proleague, so I feel pretty safe here. Movie's score also seems artificially inflated due to his ridiculous performance of yesteryear (2nd in the OSL? Wut?), so he also will hopefully disappoint. And to round it out... Perfectman's just terrible. Nuff said.

Instead of Jaehoon, why not pick some bench player worth 1 point who will never play, for your anti-team? Not to mention he's on MBC, so most likely he will get some team points..

think I have some nice values with my main team... was originally going with light and sea but they left me with fewer options. Baby, forGG, Violet and Shuttle have a good chance to produce above their values.
bisu is in shambles right now, he's an excellent pick up at 7. PerfectMan should see little play for OZ although he might get his share of team points.

Yeah, all of those players should get a lot of games, although Lomo and GuemChi might get a little less then the others but still a lot.
As for the Jaedong/Flash/Light question, its because they are being idiots. They know they'll play fairly good so they are making a losing team...

You don't have to spend so many point in your anti team man. You only have to make 13 points.

Yeah, rofl.. Jaedong and Kal will both play good, as for Effort I'm not sure about him... Hes been bad lately, he's on my Anti-team too.
As for Bisu, I believe hes past his time.. He's losing everything now even when he was practicing, so I think he'll only win a game here and there, deffinatly not worth 7 points, more like 4-5. So, I think KHAN will do better then SKT because KHAN has Stork/Jangbi/Great who should do pretty well, where SKT only has Fantasy/Hyuk really. (Best has been playing badly lately aswell, and Canata sucks atm, and you know the story on Bisu. Also, Fantasy hasn't been in good shape so hes more like 6 points right now, not 8. Hyuk is only really the player who has been going good on SKT.)

Here's my new team, ForGG will be a good deal for his price if he keeps up his performance from winner's league. Free is a solid player and star's main toss. Hyuk is a sniper and gets some wins, best 2 point zerg as I need a zerg in my team. Light is a proleague monster. Pure being only worth 2 points is quite a good deal. Violet, I like him and I'm hoping KT sends him out a lot.
As for my Anti Team, I took a bit of a gamble. I'm just hoping that Jaedong doesn't do well and then I just put two random players that don't see much playtime.

Jaedong may not play too well, but he will sure play a lot and win quite a bit of games. Not sure about Juni, should be fairly save.

Very very strong team in my opinion, all the Stork, ZerO, Sea, Baby and Pure should get a lot of games, and MVP might get a few.
As for the Anti-team, Much is the best player on ACE so he will always be played.. But out of your two choices, I'd go with Modesty/Much instead of HoeJJa/Savior.

Baby seems very good shape, he is young and up and coming, is there one time he is going to come trough and show his rise in the scene to an S class player it must be now!
All of my other players are doing fairly well, aswell as most of them can be considered ACE material. Anti team was an easy pick tbh. Bisu is horrible these days.

Well, your anti-team needs to only be 13 points... even though Bisu and EffOrt are slumping they are still worth a ton, and if they start winning you won't be able to trade them. Best to keep Bisu and trade for a combination of 6 points (3 and 3 methinks) so that if even if those guys start tearing it up, you can trade them back for one of the higher-ups that is slumping.
Also, Jaedong and Flash are both too expensive by expected value formulas (expected point to be won / (5*player cost) to be worth 22 points... and Calm chokes. Your Ace players won't earn you many points, and having ACE as a team might actually cost you points, and you won't be able to trade them away.

LOL I really like you're main team style, even willing to take ACE. I hope you do well.
Also, you're anti-team only needs to be 13 points, you have 21, so I would trade out like stork or effort for some lower guys.
For your anti-team: You want players to do worse than last season, but not only relative to themselves, you also want the players to do poorly in general/never play/be on a losing team.

My anti hurts me a little bit because im a CJ fan but I believe EffOrt is going to have a bad PL round so thats why he is there. HoeJJa has some potential but I hope he doesnt get to play or win that much >
