This thread delivers. I seriously don't know how the file being saved in .png proves it was edited. When I went to save the file, I thought for a second before habitually selecting .png, and I just left it as .jpeg. If you saved it in .png, but don't usually (like the .jpeg photo), it would show that you had gone out of your way to increase the quality of the PM photo, thus it was almost certainly photoshopped. We've already deduced I don't have photoshop on my computer, and I even showed you a SS of my applications TWO MINUTES after I was accused of photoshop. I also honestly didn't know that .png was higher quality (I swear on the soul of Mae Jae Yoon and Shi Ni Seung, if you know me that's pretty damn solid). My friends just assure me that it's better for whatever reason, so I, out of habit, tend to save in that format.
Firstly, Photoshop is hardly the only program you could have used, so really the SS proves nothing. CompuPic for instance would do the job for you. That being said, i'm leaning towards believing you on this one. In a similar position, I would likely have reverted back to .jpeg format.
Casts a spell of doubt over everything however.

To further elaborate on this, maybe someone photoshopped it, presented it to the mafia and they decided shallow should post it for whatever reason. His "habitual" .png saving doesn't make sense since his own paint picture is saved in .jpeg which he "left it on .jpeg", when in fact default the default save format for paint is .bmp (I said .gif earlier, my mistake).

When I was done superimposing the Godfather over SMB (uncanny likeness, I stand by it), I clicked save and ".jpeg" was in the drop down menu. That's all I can tell you, besides that I decided to leave it there.

I'll say it again, I guess. I don't find the clue system useful; given the length of the boast and the huge pool of players we have, I feel that if you look hard enough, you'll find something that could point to almost anyone. Furthermore, since the clues could be so incredibly obscure as to not be helpful AND deliberate red herrings can be included, I think it may even be dangerous to persue cases solely on the basis of clues.
As for defending myself... I feel it's necessary to defend myself when people attack me. Especially when they don't actually explain themselves at all.
Again, editing posts is bad because it's more likely mafia have something to hide than townies. Why do it? Why not post again to clarify things? Why is editing a superior choice? If people make a mistake, it should be there for all to see, not hastily covered up! The solution is clearly not to allow editing because mafia members might use other people who edit as mislynch targets, but to *not edit* and not allow yourself to become a target that way!

If I'm mayor I will almost certainly use double lynches as soon as possible. My first act in office, however, is to lynch one guy. Town seems to support Dr. Dragoon as a target in general, and that's where I'll probably be going with it.

First of all, .jpeg is the default save format for Paint.
Second, in my opinion you guys are thinking way ahead into this. The explanation "I saved in JPEG because last time I saved in .png people made a big fuss about it" is a perfectly good explanation, and I personally see no reason to be particularily suspicious about that.
The Dr.Dragoon case, however, still has me convinced he should be lynched.

I think the people thinking that I'm actually mafia are quite silly. WHY WOULD I MAKE SUCH A STUPID PM. The PM doesn't even follow the chain of events either. Shallow admits that we had a PM convo, and he sent me a PM FIRST. If I am stupid enough to actually make that PM, why wouldn't I just use the reply function? It's fake.

I know what you mean, I left for like an hour and a half and like 8 new pages popped up. Instead of reading them all, I just skimmed them, realized Dragoon was being targetted and hopped on the bandwagon asap. If I was gone for like a day, I'd probably just give up.
