It is not about it being claim wars. The game is unsolvable with claims or checks. However it gives us advantage in opposition to the situation as it is now. The idea however is that because of the roles being "useless" -- since even if youre a cop you dont know and cant know which cop you are (basically meaning there should pretty much never be any trust to any check) -- you have the option to do this:

Instead of (from townies perspective) figuring out who are 2 mafia in a pool of 7 players you have to either:
- Figure out who is one mafia in a pool of X players and one mafia in a pool of Y players, or
- Figure out who are two mafia in a pool of A players and you instantly have B players who are clear

Both of those options are better than trying to figure out who are 2 mafia in 7 players, because the logical deduction becomes easier, especially if/when we manage to lynch mafia.

I think it is pretty obtuse to not try to use the mechanics to your advantage, it's like saying in a normal game that you didnt use your cop role because you think it's unfair... The why join a game like that at all?
