(Me)“Porsche... I’ve never been in one. My family was more of a Ford/Lincoln type of family. What do you think? I am a bit of a car enthusiast...”

“I like the drive.”

“Ah, yes, that makes sense.”
*beat- reaches the gate of the parking garage*
(Her again)
“You know, not many people see this. My little sister calls me “T-Rex” because of our relative position and that since she’s taller than me, she doesn’t have to do this” (can’t reach the ticket reader. Has to open door to reach it.)

“Ah... yeah... sometimes in my truck, I also had to open the door but because the vehicle was too tall. But yes, that’s a struggle I’ve never really had, right there.”

Met with wry grin.

(pulls out onto the driveway)

(Me) “where are we?”

“What do you mean? You came here too?”

“We’re going to your parents house, right?”

“Oh- you sat in the back.”

“Yeah. Too tall, couldn’t see.”

“That’s Rodeo Blvd.” (knowing grin. I later found out Rodeo is kind of a famous place.)

“Ok.”

(I start to feel carsick. We continue the drive in silence. We are climbing to the top of Beverly Hills. Before we reach the top, she turns into a private drive.)

“Crap... don’t tell me I forgot it...”
(Searches purse)

“We have to go around front. Dang!”

“Is that such a problem?”

“10 minute drive or more.”

I then felt really sick. She is out of my league.

Our parents would continue to try and set us up. She’s not stupid though. Despite all this, I am really flattered to have been considered. She still wants to be friends, and wants to get to know each other better. So I charge at that 1%. Statement multiplicity: like, 5 or so... but some of them are opposite of what I mean so meh.

I... I know others there, who CLEARLY have the hots for me. But I can’t... I can’t go to them yet. I am definitely in turmoil as I am so dedicated to someone who doesn’t really return that dedication.

(Me again, struggling to move a couch from the youth room) “it’s ok, I got it”

She takes it by an upper part, ironically highlighting how much taller than her I am. She makes a subtle but decisive difference in the load.

“Ah? Thanks, you’re pretty strong!”

“Hahah- I do work out, you know. J(name) leads yoga classes and Pilates, you should come!”

“Maybe. What day?”

“Saturday.”

“I fly on Saturdays. Intro lesson this week. As far as I can afford.”

“You can schedule that though, right? You should come.”

“I’ll tr-“

“-hey that table is in my way, I’m gonna have to let go- Hey, K(name) stop for a sec!”

K(): “oh gosh keep going it is really heavy don’t stop”

Me: “it’s fine just let go”

Her: “I won’t be able to hold it”

Me: “it’s fine”

She lets go

My shoulder still hurts, and we moved that couch for the super bowl.

I love this woman. But I can’t act on that. I’m too young.
