Like when it's newbies, martyring isn't terribly uncommon. I've always seen it as a threat of, "When I flip everyone will see you're fucking wrong." Or some sort of using their alignment flip to get incredulous and prove they're right. Never in a million games have I ever see a new townie predicate their threat of of flip that way.. it's super fucking weird.

I still don't think Hopeless is scum. I absolutely hate his response to being a possible lynch, but his calling out conversion for saying he had a 2 post filter when he only had 1 post and a /in, picking up on ritoky's jab at copcake for inconsistency, his absolute ambivalence about HF questioning his vote for Jealous. I hate him picking at FF for a 2 minute time difference. In reading his filter, I can think of lots of arguments for him being scum; they just seem worse than the reasons for calling him town.

I kinda like FF's catch up post, though I hate how he has Damdred as town. but I really hate how twice he seems to be filtering/catching up while simultaneously asking for a filter to dive. I hate more that he later filters Damdred and has him at null to scum because there's nothing new in what he's said; it's just a lame rehash of what I or HF have said. I just don't see a reason to townread him.

I wish I could describe it better, but that whole interaction felt like he martyred wrong, especially for a newbie. It like checks all the boxes but never puts the package in the mail. Not a great analogy. It's like he equally has a really shitty viewpoint of himself as a mafia player and an overly confident viewpoint of himself as a mafia player at the same time. It's super dissonant tone-wise from his early play.
