Night 3 Bill Murray was working night shift on quality control and found himself testing the devices that processed the chocolate at the factory. Upon checking the machine, he noticed the lockout mechanism was disabled - which was odd, he was the only one on the floor. He went to the control room, only to find an intruder. The intruder, spooked by Bill, tried to take off but Bill tackled him to the ground. "What the fuck are you doing?" he screamed at Bill. "What the fuck are YOU doing?" screamed Bill back as he promptly knocked him out and phoned the police. As Bill surveyed the area the intruder sabotaged, his eyes popped as he noticed a Demarquette business card fall out of the fallen's pocket. "Don't these bastards have anything better to do?" Day 4 Rels sighed. His employees were dropping like flies, and certain occurrences on the floor revolving around the deaths of some of them were inexplicable. He phoned his auditor to accompany him to the factory today to check in on some last hour delivery order, which provided chocolate wafers for Treleavens two newest flavours. Rels and the auditor walked over to the shipping and receiving area, parsing through several layers of invoices and packing slips. There were several dozen orders for tonnes of wholesale orders from Bayside and other local confectioners through the last week. Rels pulled out another order book and then began to notice where the rogue orders began. But there was one problem, invoices for the London confectioners began much later than their local suppliers' shipments had started disappearing. "There might be an insider infiltrator somewhere. There has to be," muttered the auditor. "Did anyone start recently?" "Not that I'm aware," replied Rels. "Might need to check some of the nearby distributors though, because that's where our problems might lie." As if on cue, Rels' smartphone went off. "Holy shit," he exclaimed. "What is it?" "There was a murder at one of the distributors we do business with. Individual in question handled a lot of chocolate in our area including Bayside. That's the prelim information coming out but investigators are concluding 100% foul play." "This is a lot worse than I expected," replied the auditor. "So this basically means our supply chain is fucked." Rels muttered. "Fucking motherfuckers..." Xatalos, a factory worker (Town Vanilla) was taken out! Night 4 Unable to figure out who was sabotaging his factory operations, Rels found his patience growing shorter each day. To tackle the problem head on, he decided to work late night for a few days and tasked an internal auditor to do spot checks on operations at dusk and dawn. Rels reported for work the next evening, auditor in tow. He went into the chocolate processing room and noted that all employees who were scheduled were all there. The auditor had already known the chocolate batch had been compromised, now it was only a matter of pinpointing whom and when. Or so they thought. Rels went to the lockout list to see who might have signed out to load the rogue chocolate, surely they had to do so for safety reasons. At the very least they could POE the person who had loaded by figuring out who was on standby. Rels tore through the safety boom to see where last night's signout sheet was. After some flipping through, he discovered the page was torn out. He rushed to the command centre for the factory to see who might have possibly been on standby during the lockout procedures. When he entered the room, he was greeted by a police officer who informed him of a dead body of an employee discovered near the loading area. That employee had been scheduled to receive the chocolate intended for processing. "FUCK!!!!" Rels screamed. "Fucking motherfuckers!" Day 5 Trfel rang his friend to take her out for another date. He decided that tonight he wanted to really pull out all the stops and sweep her off her feet. Dinner and a stroll and maybe the night lotus event on the river? He couldn't see her refusing. "Hey Catrina," he said, "how's it going?" "I'm well," she replied, "how are you?" "Pretty golden," he said, "what are your plans looking like for tomorrow night?" "Well, for now," she started, "dodgy. I'm getting fucked in my writing class. Why do you ask?" "I wanted to know if you'd be interested in dinner, a stroll and the lotus show. You were talking about it at lunch sometime last week. I thought you might be interested in checking it out." Trfel for whatever reason, could feel her cringe at the other end of the line. "Yikes," she replied. "It's probably not going to do. I'd be lucky to get an hour out." "Maybe a quick stroll?" he suggested. "Maybe just enough for a study break, but not taking too much time." "I'm sorry but it's not going to work out tomorrow." "Fuck my life," he sighed after he hung up, "I really don't feel like doing my physics homework, so I guess it's another night in of playing Starcraft tomorrow. Night 5 A young Fidei approached the Demarquette boutique store with his dad after they had finished the rugby match. Fidei was in the mood for ice cream with melted dark chocolate as a post-game treat, it would be something to cheer him up after his team had gotten drubbed at Twickenham. His father went to the counter and ordered two ice cream scoops with the melted chocolate on top. The lady looked down over at Fidei who looked up at her innocently before she was sharply realising that with their own supply of chocolate having been slashed because of an investigation into their supply chain she had been unable to use enough chocolate required for the fudge and syrup toppings. "I'm dreadfully sorry," she replied to Fidei, "but we are unable to make the fudge topping as we are short on the chocolate blend required for it." Fidei ran out of the store crying. The poor lad couldn't catch a break. Day 6 Rels hustled through the factory doing his last wave of lockdown checks. Given the recent deaths of several of his workers and the ongoing investigations, his auditor was also staying on hand for routine inventory and property counts. "Well, strangely enough," started the auditor, "nothing's missing. At least in terms of inventory and property. I had my assistant count through a few times and we're all getting the same numbers." Rels nodded and headed to the command centre to check the electronic timesheets. All employees had clocked in and out last night and any employees currently on shift were assembled in the lounge. Then Rels took another look at the manual scans. With the recent incidents, employees now had to physically sign in and out. And each of their signatures was all accounted for. "Well," said Rels. "I don't know what the deal is, but this factory was clean last night. Or if not, the saboteurs simply chose not to strike." "Probably the latter," replied the auditor. "Surveillance is coming up completely clean. Not sure why but I wonder if they are hoping that we'll drop our guard." All factory workers have been accounted for. The final day has begun and in 48h you will hand out the final pink slip! Will you nail down the last of the choco-devils or will they take over your factory? Night 6 and Endgame Rels sat down to page together a few investigators he could call to see who was tampering with his business. Just as he was checking his contacts on his computer, the door swung wide open. He turned around and saw a few people he didn't recognise. "Who are you?" "We are your worst nightmare," Blazinghand smiled as he approached Rels with a gun, aiming it squarely at him. Rels, confused, backed to his chair and stumbled a bit. "Alright mate," he began, "you clearly have the wrong person." "Nah," he replied, "we don't. We've disposed of every worker we need to, but we just have one last person on that list." "Who?" "The factory supervisor," Blazinghand replied. "You see, we need a little, ahem, help with our chocolate distribution so we thought your factory might make a grand vehicle." "Well shit," muttered Rels as Blazinghand drew the gun to his head. "Any last words?" Rels started to panic.
