I think this is a good point. If the one who is lynched flips mod, we can be reasonably sure that the mayor was not mod. If they flip town well... people make mistakes but based off of how many people agree with the decision it could still be telling.
if we choose someone who doesnt know their alignment then they could pick mod but then still end up being mod themselves.
