Open up!!!” screamed Artanis as he banged on the second mate’s door. “God, is everyone on deck? We need help down here this morning! Man down, man down!” He huffed and puffed from exhaustion but then headed to the lower deck, only to run into Petty Officer Kelsier. “Those bloody pirates have infiltrated our ship, we must have picked them up from Tanzania!” Artanis continued. “Or even worse, Madagascar! Rayn, he’s in the dressing room, slumped over….” “Artanis, calm yourself, we have the doctors down there, they are trying to revive him! Have you spotted any sign of pirates aboard?” “GET WITH THE PROGRAM!!!! Of course there are pirates you idiot!!!” screamed Artanis. “I found AK-47 bullets lodged in the walls, WE DON’T USE THOSE GUNS YOU IDIOT!!!! Only those pirates would use them, and clearly they are on our ship!!” Kelsier grumbled in disgust as he put out his cigar. “I don’t understand, we’re nowhere near Somalia.” “Aren’t you caught up to speed with the military briefings? You’re aware of the pirate camps that have made their way to Madagascar right?” Kelsier gave Artanis a blank stare as Blazinghand, another member of the crew, rushed in. “Kelsier!” Artanis barked. “Are you with me??!!” He shook Kelsier in disgust. “I don’t even,” he remarked. “I didn’t realise it was this bad.” “Basically, you are part of the problem.” snapped Blazinghand. “Well we’re in for a real treat then,” replied Kelsier, “the captain is probably oblivious to this because he just issued standard guard orders which shouldn’t be the case if we have infiltrators so we need to get to the main deck ASAP.” “Thank you Doctor Obvious,” muttered Artanis as he stepped around a corner. He ducked into another communal changing room and to his horror, found another one of his colleagues slumped over, gunshot wound to his stomach. “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!” At that moment Kelsier reemerged and immediately descended upon the victim, only to notice the large pool of blood underneath his body. “I have no idea how many pirates we picked up, but we picked up enough where this is going to be a serious problem if we don’t eliminate them soon.” “Advanced orders?” “We’re going to need more than that, quite frankly.” “At the very least, we need to hunt these bastards down, and fast.” Kelsier slumped in a nearby chair as he started to worry about his family.
