The above is completely false. As of November 2014, from Kita's database:
Mafia players are lynched 26.2% of the time on day one.
Random lynching would result in a mafia lynch 25.2% of the time.
Mafia players are lynched only 16.9% of the time in newbie games on day one, so excluding these games brings the overall day one lynch percentage up to 28.5%!

Okay, then let me take a step back here because I'm also not the only one that voted for him. Eden at least suspected/pushed him and Lian and Oats also voted him as well.
Lian, Eden, Oats: Have any of you played a game with VA? If so, could any of the three of you either vouch for or give a counterargument on VA's meta?

Well we have Bats vouching for your D1 meta, and being relatively new, I've not played with you before, so I took all your actions at face value. Not knowing anything else, it does looks bad to me.
But I'm going to wait and see what OWS says though. And if his knowledge supports, I will give you the benefit of the doubt.
Bats is contesting that Oats' thinking may also be flawed in voting you.
Do you have an alternative, or would your alternative be LS?
Also OP doesn't say when EoD is. Should I assume 1700 EST?

OWS and DrP, this is my first time playing with him and Bats defence of him was meta. I cannot speak for the veteran votes on him, though. With three people defending him for reasons they are, I'm willing to give VA benefit of the doubt.
My thoughts:
I do not understand Bunnies' vote on Oats, but I want her to explain first.
I do not feel Oats is the D1 lynch.
Sicklucker generally needs more than one day to evaluate, Breshke I know has been scum before and a couple are scumreading him based on tone. I also feel I need another day to eval those two, Bats, OWS.
Lian...different approach...but I'm not feeling a lynch on him either.
mderg, I don't want to omgus him, but if I were to switch my name with someone else's and if I saw him say the same thing, my problem with his argument is that even for D1, the reads still show I am trying to work with what limited information I have. Saying my reads were inaccurate (i.e. Bats) is fine, though.
Eden's posts I am getting a town sense of thinking, I don't want to lynch him.
Lala has yet to post since he (she?) confirmed though. Now this is a potential modkill and if we absolutely positively have no other alternatives...

SL, look for the post where Bats explains VA's D1 meta to me after I vote VA.
Then when VA says "community sucks", Bats says don't let the door hit you on the way out. That's when I think Bats votes him.

Dr. P - I looked at NB's tone in her posts. Very similar to how she played in Carol, though she was almost more jovial because a lot of people in that game posted joke/fun posts D1. She was lynched D1 and was miller.
I don't see the edginess in the posts you describe.
