In all honesty, who did you think was scummier? If I had to decide for myself, it'd be fuba but you didnt really show that because you kind of just ended up sheeping town sentiment to finalize your vote. Aside from that, I think it comes down to having more time to play for you. Honestly, I couldn't make up my mind. I thought Fuba's post was scummier than Hz's overall play, but I was thinking they both were quite possibly scum. Coupled with the fact that I felt confident figuring out Fuba's alignment if he started posting more, I felt the risk associated with a potential mislynch was higher. I ended up going for Fuba mostly as a policy lynch, but I honestly would have been fine with either flip. I will say it was also very weird that both my targets d1 were up for lynch. Usually I have a fringe candidate and end up consolidating based on others peoples cases but in this case it was really hard for me to discern what all was confirmation bias from my end on Hz because other people agreed and even people who didn't weren't really pointing out the flaws in my logic as much as arguing that Fuba was just a better lynch.

Poof and Stutters, I was slightly leaning town on both of you but just barely. You played decent but you really need to work on your activity, I was leaning town on most of what you did post but in another game that might not be enough. (And Poof, don't run away from questions, they're not disappearing with time and in this game it made you look way more suspicious and could easily had been avoided) Pandain, you played really well but your day 1 behaviour made it really hard for me to trust you despite the successfull lynch and even after hzflanks flip I still didn't feel comfortable to lean on your reads. Oats, never defend yourself by saying that your play isn't worse then others. It was by far your greatest mistake and made you near confirmed scum in my eyes. Asinine, I don't know what to say, I gave you some rope in the beginning and I was lenient because I mistook took you for an arrogant veteran and it's not to unusual for them to not be to talkative with their reads. But you hung yourself by never following up on them while making new promises of coming activity. You didn't put any effort into your reads and you need to if you're going to fool anyone taking a closer look. Especially when you have that attitude.

You make it out as if it's just bad mafia play to pressure scum reads and that is not the case.

I will concede that oats looked terrible (imo) by the end of it, but if you hadn't been a vig, your play was disruptive and left town wondering wtf is gong on.

So singling him out is a trifle ridiculous here.

You can want to lynch more then one person. All I knew were you were pushing Oats, and I wasn't sure Oats was scum untill later.

I spent 3 pages pushing oats mostly on this point and then your in game-reaction was: "wow grack, Don't you know that Oats will never agree with you... Soooo why do you want to lynch pandain?" What you should have been saying was, "I think that Oats defending himself by claiming he is bad while actually thinking of himself as a decent player is scummy." Or whatever you actually thought of it at the time.

Kush could tunnel someone and shoot him and by luck hit mafia. And he too would forfill to crieteria, it doesn't make it good play. But my point isn't that his case was bad, just that the confess, Spanish inquisition style wasn't going anywhere. You don't direct your scum cases to the person you're accusing but to the other people. On November 06 2013 07:06 Grackaroni wrote: You see how this makes like absolutely no sense. Grack you didn't spend 3 pages pushing Oats, you pushed oats and then you spent 3 pages trying to tell him why he's mafia in one-liner conversations.

That was the most important thing in the thread for me and I'm not trying to convince Oats that he is scum; I'm pushing him to see his reactions. Just this from my point of view. I play by viewing reactions. It's no good me just seeing "Oats did this one thing, I think he's mafia". For me it's very helpful for both people's alignments to see them arguing about it.

I have one possible solution but I'll see if she says it. also pandain i missed this earlier - i joined newbies because i only played a handful of games almost 3 years ago and if this game was any indication i need the practice! i noticed you had a slight town lean on me after day 1 which transitioned into a hardcore scum read on day 2. i know part of it was due to my absence (i lacked the motivation to fight it out once oats got vig'ed and an asinine lynch was practically a certainty), but was a large part from reading my newbie games?? there seems a lot more meta focus than i remember there being in the past..
