if I had to describe his playstyle, it'd be a coked up rabbit with the attention of a goldfish injecting caffeine into himself directly through an IV drip. it's like a reel of random animated shorts where things just blow up randomly

Voice games take 30 minutes max, video games take like 3 hours. Give me voice any day.

Also Voice tends to have a higher amount of humorous moments like Glowingbear claiming scum 1 minute into the day and the game instantly ending as he was the godfather in the vengeful setup.

15 player games take ~2 hours.
You guys probably play with like 9 tops, which is why they take 30 minutes.

This has nothing to do with the format and everything to do with the number of people. If you had 15-20 player voice games the games would be just as long and hectic as video games. The difference is that there's actually MORE and BETTER information to go off than in Voice.

Don't bring your biases in here Artanis. Logic will win.

Yeah and we like it that way. Video mafia takes itself too seriously. Voice mafia has more fun banter.

But we've actually had that in a distant past and games still didn't last that long. Voice is just a faster paced format, and video mafia is still based on shallow reasoning compared to Forum Mafia. If you want games based on analysis, you play Forum Mafia. If you want games as a vehicle just to have a good time with friends, you play Voice mafia. Video is stuck in the middle, brah.

The discussion is kinda dumb though. Not like anyone's going to change their preferences over it. Let the people who enjoy voice play voice, and those who enjoy video play video.

This is the most important thing imo.
You don't see people playing PYP: Fucking Anything on video, or Super Smash Bros.

I get that it's a personal preference thing, and I wouldn't mind a video mafia game once in a while, but I much prefer the short fast paced and hilarious voice games.

This is grossly unfair and based on your own biased opinion. I disagree wholeheartedly - there is plenty of analysis in Video games, and you can have just as much fun in Video/Forum as in Voice.

But point taken - Artanis won't be joining us in Video.

When is it even possible to join you in video?
You have these massive streamed games that are super tryhard and by invite only. The lower key regular DM games I tried to join in at one point but I didn't know anybody, didn't like the format and even then it was impossible to determine when they were happening despite being part of the Skype group for a while.

I equally enjoy all three formats. So yes, I'm suggesting my opinion is unbiased.

Yeah, the DM games generally start around the same time every night, around 8pm.

The format DOES take getting used to, but it's not a BAD system, it's just different from what you're used to. I can get not liking it though, I hated it at first too. But once you get used to the actual format you'll find that it actually does quite a bit to organize the vote and help EVERYONE to keep on track.
