so yeah, i'm feeling pretty confident about this lynch. dandel isn't even playing the game at this point. He saw me revote artanis, thought "ah the mislynch has finally arrived." But now that the gun is pointed at dandel's head instead of artanis', he's gone and shat himself

Why do you want to lynch artanis, and WHO IS SCUM, IF ARTANIS IS TOWN?

like fuck, he's being deliberately ANTI-TOWN when the game is pretty tense and close. it smells of kush's scumslip and his later descent into madness in that one newbie

sorry to artanis/dan for being an ass but that's how I pressure people sometimes. you have to get people emotionally involved to see their true intentions prom you know i will always call you scum no matter my alignment <3

Also Thrawn, I don't think you were being an ass, I just don't think you were invested in the game up until D3 and didn't bother reading the game properly until Prome motivated you to do so. It was very frustrating playing with you, Cheese and Dandel when you really seem to put in no effort in your posts for the longest time, and it works very demotivating. hmm. D1 my play wasn't great, but I did end up with correct reads. (changing my read on prom from scum to town, and jay being scum) D2 I was wanting either an artanis or a dandel lynch, and I went to sleep and woke up to find that vivax had been lynched. had i been there I would have argued strongly against the lynch. so i'm not sure what I could have done to be more useful in D2 aside from not passing out for 12+ hours. my d3 start was.... maybe not ideal from your perspective, but I was really just trying to see if you were scum or not. i sorta did the same thing with dandel during d2... be extremely uncooperative with a person who is accusing or questioning me, and then judge their alignment based off of their reaction. you and dandel reacted completely differently... in d2 when I was an ass to dandel, he shut up and didn't question me further. in d3 he went crazy. but you hung in there despite me being extremely annoying which is what caused me to change my reads d3

Cuz it's just as wrong as Hapa calling me town for trollvoting DrH because it was "too brave" or whatever heuristic he used. It's just how I roll. What I said to you ingame is true, if you won't answer a straight question first time, you won't do it second time either. No need to waste time on it. yeah but you didn't even try to make a case against me, or ask other people what they thought of how i was playing, or anything. you simply dropped the issue entirely. it read as you not caring enough to push your read

When I did do so and people barely/didn't respond to it and still happily voted for me, it doesn't particularly make the game very fun. yeah I guess it's a debate over the importance of appearing townie. my town play used to be very townie.. my posts were long and full of analysis/quotes etc. it didn't do me any good though, i would overthink the game and end up with TERRIBLE reads all game long which often ended up with me getting mislynched near endgame. i tried playing 'less townie' in This Town Ain't Big Enough and my reads were better in that game than they usually are. That being said, it didn't take a genius to figure out who was scum in that game so it might not be the best evidence. But it worked, so I tried the same thing this game and it went pretty well imo. I wasn't concerned in the slightest about being mislynched. I had very strong town reads on hapa/prom, and I trusted that as long as one of them was still in the game they would be able to read me and convince everyone else not to lynch me. Had I felt more pressure I probably would have made longer posts and stuff like that. Here's the thought process: You are town, and you know you are town. You start off by playing in a way that sets yourself up to come under a lot of fire. Then you look at all the people who are accusing you and try to figure out which of them are genuinely trying to figure out your alignment, and which of them are taking the easy way out by voting for "lynchbait." Last game it was keir, and this game it was jay. It's kinda interesting that they both used the same arguments to accuse me.... my meta. Neither were concerned with what my actual posts said or what my reads are, they were both happy to condemn me base on meta alone while other people in the game said I was suspicious, but they weren't solely concerned with the meta argument. A lot of people will say that that's a terrible way to play because it's selfish and puts the other townies in a bad position and I agree with that. I probably won't do stuff like that again, but it was fun in these two games.

I think the way you played this game is find, people find methods of scumhunting that work for them but you need to make it very clear to people what you are trying to do. If you had made a post like this during the actual game, I would have been pretty much convinced that you're real town. I also tend to get caught up in second guesses when my super aggressive play tends to lead me in the right direction more than my levelheaded inquisitive one does. The trick is finding out what works about that aggression and employing it in a way that doesn't hurt town at all. At what point in the game does it make sense to say "I was trying to match my lurky scum meta on purpose?" Say I roll town, and I start off D1 by lurking again. It creates a bunch of wifom about whether I'm really town, or scum trying to cash in on other people's memories of the time I rolled town and intentionally matched my scum meta. Admitting that I was playing intentionally scummy on purpose means that it's no longer a viable tactic...... Which is why I can't ever do it again, lol. inb4 miller claim jokes
