There are too many traps for a counterclaim. I'm not 100% confirmed unless I die, of course, but it would be a real bonehead move and my scum play is very careful regarding my own posting. I like to bus the shit out of my teammates and never claim.

Sorry, I meant to list people that are involved in the argument with Artanis supporting lynching Viv or Jay and Vivax supporting lynching Artanis.
I remember last time I played with a town Artanis he was a DT who PM'd me and basically posted nothing strong in the thread and relied on me to push his checks and reads. So I'll think about that. If anyone hammers Artanis before he defends himself, they're scum.

This is a fantastic setup because we can basically force players to defend themselves by voting 3-4 on them and then threatening to kill the hammer if they hammer early. Now I can pressure both sides of the argument to stop myself from second guessing myself too much. :-)

It's just not something I would ever ever do as scum.
Every time I'm scum I scream and yell at my teammates not to do any fancy plans, not to fakeclaim, to play safe and simple and they never listen. I'm not good at analyzing the setup so I don't like to rely on it for my own play.

Yeah, I'm moving back to Dandel Ion. He was aggressive to begin with. And now he's playing scared and talking about the setup, something that might have been very carefully parsed in the scum QT. One of my rules of thumb is that the more familiar a player is with the rules/setup, the more carefully they have considered it, the more likely it is they are scum. Scum begin the game by talking about setup, considering their options (roleclaims, etc.) and asking a lot of questions to the host.
As town, I know I don't read the setup very carefully cause it doesn't play too far into the way I scumhunt unless someone claims and then I look to see if there's a way I can trap with that. The less familiar a player is with the setup/rules, the more likely it is they are town.
When a player ducks out of the day to only talk about that kind of stuff - it is very likely they care scum.

But I completly forgot about thrawn. When you mentioned him I remembered Lamp and his meta case on Thrawn as scum super lurking. That is exactly the case here. Once thrawn found out his role pm he legit stopped posting. He lurked super hard and attributed it to life reasons. Ill be damned if thrawn doesnt come back and give the same excuse.
Also if you recall Hapa I was going after DP and then you had a read on him so i backed down eventually I didn't want to do a 180 then because i was worried about how it would look. But if you have a town read on Vivax I respect that and wouldn't want to go against your reads regardless.

Jay come on. I've never seen you take such a defeatist attitude towards this game. Yeah but at some point we have to hammer somebody and I see no reason to go past a 72 hour mark. Eventually we'll reach a time when discussions keep revolving around in the same circles and tbh I'm inclined to think anybody who wants to extend the lynches forever is scum buying time.

When things go on too long townies start second guessing and you end up with split wagons. I was fine the way Day 1 ended, jay clearly had p much given up on defending himself and going too much longer could have ended up in the death of Vivax or Artanis that day.

I've played few minis so I'll take your word on that. I tend to get less confident over time. My early reads are usually the most accurate.

If playing "more townie" made you a worse townie then you're confused about what being a good townie is. I think the way you played this game is find, people find methods of scumhunting that work for them but you need to make it very clear to people what you are trying to do. If you had made a post like this during the actual game, I would have been pretty much convinced that you're real town.
I also tend to get caught up in second guesses when my super aggressive play tends to lead me in the right direction more than my levelheaded inquisitive one does. The trick is finding out what works about that aggression and employing it in a way that doesn't hurt town at all.
