This is my chance to inject fun back into the game for me. I love playing, I feel like I'm improving in a big way recently but while I get better the game gets less fun because of what lurky and useless town players have done to the game. I have felt cheated by my losses and I don't think I would feel rewarded by a win if I rolled scum. My hope is that this game will be high enough level for me to find joy in it and if I don't manage to enjoy it I'll be taking a break. I love normal minis and they are my crack but if this town lurks away a win I will be avoiding any game without the right player list. | ||

it is actually ridicoulus that you dare to judge wbgs behaviour. it's impossible to win with some townplayers, a bad atmosphere cannot make it worse, since the game is already unplayable. how ironic. the only guy who knows how to play correctly, tells the others to play correctly and is told he doesnt play correctly, since playing correctly doesnt include telling the others to play correctly hahaha | ||

I think YAN is a great example of this. Both Palmar and Bugs, as town, realized how shit the town was and half-assed their parts as townies. Their half ass was still better than anyone else in the game but it is hard for me as an up and coming player to watch the players I respect and look up to contribute to the problems they hate. Bugs does know how to play correctly and that is why I expect so much more of him. He is one of those players whom I know to be good and I know to be better than they are showing in their recent town games (VE is another great example if we wanna talk about the trash that was lviii or marv, BC and Palmar in lviii) it pains me to see the guys who I believe to be above the bullshit fall in it. I expect a certain level of total shit (Morb and Eywa in YAN) but to have vets whom I respecct allowing that total shit to overwhelm them and detract from their own play is deeply demoralizing to me as a player in those games. | ||

Look at that list and tell me that you expected better play from all of those guys. My point is that the top players are not playing their top games when shitty towns are shitty. I (totally unreasonably) expect better of them when I myself am unable to rise above shitty towns. Again lviii. | ||

and if 90% of us do something... well... i agree that marv is a terrible lynch, too... but if you sheep 90% of us, it is much harder for scum to do really wierd stuff... whatever... its probably not the right thread for that discussion... | ||

There has been a recent trend of some "veterans" joining games, being inactive or playing poorly themselves and at the same time complaining about the level of play and doing nothing about it. If you join a game, fail to achieve anything, you probably didn't play well and should direct some of the criticism towards yourself. A lot of players ought to be more self-aware and less arrogant as in many cases the arrogance is, in my opinion, misguided. It is certainly very poor play strategically to be extremely arrogant and just trash other players. I don't think BC was a particularly bad lynch, certainly not bad enough to make all the people supporting the lynch "terrible" | ||

I wasn't talking about bugs... this is about your anger  What is the use of parading about talking about how bad everyone is? Imagine a scenario where you walk into class, and the teacher hands you your test. He explains how your grade is so awful, it's not even worth his time to teach you. What then? Aren't both of you worse off for him saying that? There is no point in raging against the external factors that frustrate you and in many cases it only contributes to the problem. Instead of going on a campaign of martyrdom, you should look to improve yourself first. Set the example, be the change you want to create and encourage others do to so as well. If everyone's goals are about the same (fun and mentally stimulating mafia games) and everyone individually/independently works towards their own goals, then we are all working towards our common goals. If all else fails, that's the point where you can abstain from games to avoid playing with people who you are mistakenly identifying as the only source of the problem. eh, sniped by syllogism | ||

and i want to apologize for that term terrible. it's unjustified to call a bunch of people terrible because they voted - in my eyes - not correctly, without rereading their explanations. however if i look at this game more carefully again, i bet i can find a lot more strange moves and missing explanations :-/ | ||

my definition of a vet is a player scum shoots even if he accomplished nothing. therefor i disagree with lynching them, because often times scum is so kind to shoot them early and i waste my time thinking about them. and if you direct your "arrogance" critisim towards me, i think as scum, arrogance is a legit technique to avoid suspicion or cases. as a townie it's probably not okay and if i am arrogant as town it's a mistake since it doesnt really help in general. i dont want to talk about ongoing games right now :-D | ||
