I recently saw an interview with Richard Garfield. Here's an excerpt:
Q: Someone claimed that, in the upcoming core set, Rock Hydra is to be recognized as the most awesome hydra in its flavour text. Is this WotC's official opinion? A: Bitch, please. Everybody knows that Clockwork Hydra has way more style.
I am unsure why he was channeling Samuel L. Jackson when saying that, but there you go: straight from the horse's mouth.

I'm ready to have fun with science
|
I am proud to say I am a product of magic, not science.
|
Still need the MG/Oatsmaster hydra to post so I can add the filter link.
|
You can't be the most awesome hydra if "Hydra" is in your name. Sorry to break it to you
So, when was this starting again? In 10 minutes or in 1-3 hours?
|
Hey guys, roflstomp INCOMING
|
Just a head's up, we're going to have a super-conductor turned up full-blast and pointed at you for the duration of this next test.
|
Shut up Bin
( )
lol, 4 guys have a Forest deck, and 3 have a Mountain one.
Mountain vs Forest, WHO WILL WIN!!!?
Oh yeah some guys have Swamp but those suck for trying to be MTG hipsters.
|
Just a heads up. We will be using heads instead of hands, due to the shortage of limbs and abundance of teeth.
|
Also, swamps rock. Artanis wanted us to start with a forest, but forests are for pussies.
|
On the bright side, if we can make this happen they're going to have to invent a new type of Nobel Prize to give us, so... hang in there.

Day 1![[image loading]](http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120714160344/powerlisting/images/thumb/4/4d/MTG_Apocalypse-Hydra.jpg/640px-MTG_Apocalypse-Hydra.jpg) It was a glorious day. Countless magicians had been counting down the days for the tournament to finally begin. Due to sponsorship issues it was delayed for a week, but now the time was there. Master magician Artanis[Xp] and trusty sidekicks MidnightGladius were ready to receive the participants in what would be one of the most prestigious tournaments to date. Magicians from all over the world would travel to compete for the prize money, but foremost to join the hall of fame with legends like Qatol, Toadesstern and GMarshal in it.
Twelve of the world's mightiest magicians had assembled to partake in the tournament. Each carrying their own history, mastery of their own craft. However, before the tournament began, tragedy struck. A large monster entered the arena, seemingly indestructible. The beast quickly turned its head and struck down three of the competitors. If this beast was summoned, it surely was outside of the game rules. The remaining nine magicians would have to do something. Anything to stop this beast from tearing down the arena and destroying what was supposed to be a joyous tournament. However, the beast proved to be much too strong for conventional magic. Out of desparation, the magicians were left with only one option. Find whoever controls the beast and destroy him.
Day 1 has now begun! If you wish to mulligan, please do not cast any spells and PM me within the next 6 hours. You will be provided with a new hand as soon as I read it. Spells are to be cast in the MTG Mafia Board thread. Read the thread before posting in it. Everyone has been provided with a basic land card in the colour that would most suit their deck in order to speed the game up. Any further questions may be posted in this thread or PMed. Day 1 will last 48 hours, after which the combat phase will begin.

The lab monkeys told me this started at 6 CET, but we don't have any clocks in here anyways. Used to, but they kept taking breaks. No clocks, no break times. You need to pee? We invented the damn portals! Just pee into those! Where's it go? Right back into the life support for the test subjects! We're a lean mean testing machine!

Real Hydra's use black. ~Hopeless
I will be signing posts with my name. It'd be nice if the other hydras could do so as well, but to each his own I guess. Also as general housekeeping, if you derp on the hydra account (its almost inevitable) could you quote your post using the correct account? Thanks <3

Holy fuck I'm town finally!
Okay, this game we WILL WIN IT. We won't derp like last game I'll make sure of that.
I'll post the commandments of ThePoster in short time. Follow them and we'll win.
|
Here are my policies to live by this game:
- All hydras must always sign their posts. Hydras are going to be confusing enough as it is. If, in addition, we have no clue who is writing what posts, then confusing ideas just get even worse. Always sign your post. If you forgot, I prefer you ebwop in a signature than you leave us to guess.
- Between hydras, a very non-standard setup, and some of the most prolific posters on the subforum (myself included), without some restraint this game thread is going to turn into a giant shitfest of spam and I don't feel like sifting through that to analyse people. Do NOT make frivolous posts. Almost everybody here has a hydra head. Discuss stuff with your alter ego before spamming up the thread with every thought that enters your mind.
I WILL attack people who I feel break these policies (looking at you for the second one, Prom).
Magic policies:
- Let everybody develop their deck. If you drew a wasteland, do not use it to destroy someone's turn 1 land. It is pointless. We make destructive decisions like resetting the board with a Wrath of God (not in my deck) together.
- Don't waste power plays on people until you are quite sure they're town. I am not going to enforce something like a lynch vote, but unless you have convincing arguments that someone is scum, do NOT attack him, disenchant his shit or do other stuff to weaken him. If you have something like a goblin lackey that needs to get through, ask politely. On the receiving end, don't just kill that shit because you can: the more decks develop, the stronger town's position is. Our force is in numbers.

Wait, why does it matter that we sign our names?
|
Shut up Acro I don't need to sign my posts for people to know who I am >_>
If you are town you don't need to Fear me though......if you are scum though, that's another history
I'm going to reread MTG Mafia 1 first. Here is my 1st commandment:
1) Read the 1st MTG game for any setup/game speculation, before just spouting shit from your mouth you don't even believe in

~both Acro and Dandel These lab boys just told me that I should probably stop making these frivolous posts. That gave me an idea: MAKE MORE FRIVOLOUS POSTS! I pay the bills here I can talk in character all damn day.
