All I know is that I was targeted with something and I live. BC and austin seem pretty sure they were targeted with KP, so I don't think it would be inconspicuous if I were targeted with KP.

Unless they're conditional or more than 1-shot. Maybe they have more powers that aren't KP. There are any number of reasons. Until one claims, they'll remain useless to speculate about.

The fact is I've never seen annul play town mk. If I had, I might have said "Yeah he's hard to lynch regardless of alignment"...except I've never seen it...or if I have, I don't remember it because it was NOT memorable. My scum game with him was memorable for the reasons I've outlined.
