2) Cephiro
3) Mister Saturn
4) grush57
5) talismania

If igrok is town, go with the plan I listed earlier. Lynch grush, if town you have to go all in on either a cephiro/dedede scum team or two of ms/tali/hrb scum team.

This is not calling the scum team lol. This is listing practically every player in the game.

I'm pretty sure giving you guys a 50/50 chance on scum team is "calling" it. But whatevs, you guys somehow managed to not lynch grush.

Oh and btw, it's really sad it was over so soon but with all those DK's and that shitton of damage early on it really was over so quickly. It's a multilive game and it was over after the 2nd cycle due to the incredible damage potential because everyone went for DMG-stuff :p

Not a single ness in the set-up.
2 DK's who boost the dmg A LOT and talis (Kirby) pm's me
"sup Toad, I don't want to ##eat Igrok because he's DK and I don't want the a DK ability, therefore I'm eating Risen instead" which made me laugh so badly because Risen was the 2nd DK, so even more damage output. And I pm'ed him back
"good job dodging that Igrok DK bro, you ate Risen this night and ended up getting a DK ability"

Omg that's hilarious XD sorry tail

When choosing I saw the potential of a DK chain and couldn't help picking him for that reason alone. That got hotfixed, but still a hilariously powerful hero with insane draw potential lol. A shame our two DKs went after each other so hard. I carried Igrol bc of his weird choice of ms as his initial carry target, and given the option would have been carrying cephiro when I was cast into the lava to save igrok (I didn't actually vote to lava myself guys lol)

I'm still confused why with both recently lynched townies screaming for a grush lynch you decided against it. Seems to me given the possible team combos it's the most logical lynch. What were your thoughts when deciding to not lynch grush? His lynch gives so much information.

Also it was my first game ever as a host.
I actually thought A LOT about wether I want to make it 6 town vs 2 mafia (8 player set-up) or make it 7 town vs 2 mafia (9 player set-up).
I ended up feeling it should be 7v2 because I know how hard this game is for townies in irc due to the no-flip or at least late flip but Foolishness, who answered a bunch of balance questions for me ended up saying he thinks that a 2v6 set-up is probably already good for town (so the opposite of what I said) so I just went with the 6v2.

I think I'm going to think this over and try this set-up again, maybe making it 7v2 instead, maybe even making it 9v3 instead with a couple of fixes. However I don't think town lost because of the set-up I think they followed a bad idea of how to play this early on.
In multi-life set-ups you usually want to to keep the damage low, at leasts the first cycle maybe even the 2nd and want to start damaging people a little later because of the serious commitment if you want to kill someone. After all you need 2 lynches to kill someone and not just 1 so you want to be really sure about it if you want to kill someone and you almost never are sure about someone early on. Also I really don't think it's a good idea to damage someone who already got damaged early on, so if you really want to damage one just attack someone who has full HP instead of shooting into someone with low HP.

So I really think the DK's should not have grabed people so early on, which would have resulted in way less damage and more time to figure stuff out for town. After all, mafia has to kill people multiple nights in a row as well to kill someone and getting a lot of damage early on is really helping mafia focussing down people because they only have to shoot people once instead of twice or three times.
Falcon probably should not have shot n1 when you have 3 Stock and don't need to be afraid of dying before you fire your shot.

But that's my take on multi-life games in general. Start slow and start dealing damage a little late because killing someone is a serious commitment either way.

DK used to be just a VET right? I actually never played IRC with this DK if I remember correctly.
The VET-DK was kind of boring to play so I get why people didn't choose him and I also get why people picked DK in this game, it looked like a really cool char to actually do stuff.

No, originally it was just "target loses stock every time he is lynched"

yep yep.

I thought the only chance we had was if hiropro could be convinced to change his mind but alas it was too late.

acro/cephiro well played.

ps no one ever call me scum again for focusing on the setup. The nonrandom nature of the setup here shouldn't have been so overlooked.

The point is it shouldn't be the foundation of any case since it has nothing to do with scumhunting, you can't defend yourself from it and it's basically exploiting. I dislike it very much for those reasons. You should catch scum based on analysis, that's what the game is about. Catching people on setup speculation is against the spirit of the game, imo.

I went away from a grush lynch because one I didn't think he was scum, and two if he was town, we might have lost overnight depending on night actions.

And he turned out to be town which was good. Unfortunately, tali was town also

I don't mind set-up specultion at all, it has incredible downsizes and is usually something you can only use midgame or lategame because it's impossible to do from a townies point of view unless you take a huge gamble.

Take the "There is no way there are 3 KP roles on town side" speculation that ended up being right. If they would have lynched for that not only would it be random who they would have lynched (1/3 chance of hitting mafia instead of 1/4) but also town doesn't have information on the roles so they don't know what the hosts had to balance at and last but not least they don't have an idea on how I plan on balancing in this situation.

Let's take this example a step further: Funny thing is talis really ENDED up picking the right solution but that was pure luck there.
I had the roles and stuff in my sheet and I prepared several different set-ups that could have been used for balancing.
In this case I ended up with 6 different set-ups, rolled a 3 on random.org and therefore picked the yoshi+samus instead of the other 5 set-ups. And there were weird set-ups as well. One was a 3 mafia vs 5 townie set up to favored town and giving mafia a different win-con.

So really, set-up speculation isn't helping town at all early on unless you want to gamble. After a couple of flips it's a good idea to do though and it is part of the game.
Naturally, saying "one of the damage role's got to be mafia" is not a hard call to make in a 8 player game with 5 damage roles in the game so 4 set-ups really ended up having either a DK or a samus or a falcon in there.

I didn't like the "every hydra posts their QT's" though and should not have allowed that.

I've been in a number of games with grush now, so I knew what to expect. The thing is, he can make reads, he just doesn't really explain them. When he came out of left field with the cephiro accusation, I stupidly thought he was scum, because I was too busy tunneling Mr. S to really pay attention to Cephiro after an initial town read. When I did look at Cephiro, then I also got the feeling grush was town, because I saw the same things he must have been seeing.

Looking back, there were also signs talismania was town, I just couldn't see them because dedede was 100% in my blind-spot, and by process of elimination tali just had to be scum. I really should have made the effort to converse with him more on N2, as we might have helped each other reach the right conclusion.

If we had more time, I think we would have gotten it. Losing both iGrok and risen to the lava was crippling, as it really shortened the game. The high number of damage roles on the town side did this too, along with iGrok's mistake.

The main thing I want to learn from this game is how I completely whiffed on dedede. If we hadn't lost Risen and iGrok when we did, killing Tali would have revealed him, but that's not good enough. Naming Cephiro scum should have really brought dedede onto my radar. Gah, need to look at the filter again.
