I really did get two town plans though. Risk got the scummy plan. Not quite sure about the point of that one, as anyone implementing it would be insta-lynched.
I don't recall lying all game apart from pretending that I didn't know the scumteam and misclaiming in the secret ballot. I actually picked up on Cascades' scumtell post before joining the game, and the townie in me just couldn't resist highlighting it. I was hoping no-one would bother reading my posts for a while and then I could drag it out later, but I guess it was just suspiciously weak.

No third parties were in the game, you got a useless one and a town one. And there wasn't much you could have done jaj, with the possible exception of all out bussing cascades as soon as you subbed in. It wasn't that I thought you'd been particularly scummy, I was just very heavily leaning town on everyone else left in the game, and I am guessing that was the case with most of the others as well. (Well, some people still suspected refallen, but we could lynch both of you anyway) That being said, I think your understanding of the game was quite impressive, especially for someone who subbed in so late. Would like to see you playing in some more games in the future :-D

Yeah, that was my view. If you looked beyond style, Deus and Risk both had multiple alibis for being town and even Refallen had some decent anti-Sheth posts. I just had a weak bus to my credit ![](/mirror/smilies/smile.gif)
I couldn't bus Cascades properly as we desperately needed the KP for another night or two. I thought Cascades was doomed on day 4 but he was a much less popular lynch than I expected, so Zeks' shot turned out to be critical.
Would like to see you playing in some more games in the future :-D I'm kinda hoping that the mods put me down for a lifetime ban.
Which reminds me, I forgot to thank Kitaman and CyberCheese for their quality hosting, a very interesting setup and the ScumQT encouragement. Sorry I bailed early, guys.

Problem with disallowing hydras is that it might not really work. Two people who would have made a hydra can still talk out of thread, discussing everything in the game. The player-with-out-of-game-mason would still be just as dangerous to scum, but scum wouldn't know about it and he would probably be easier to read too so there would be less confusion about him which would be another problem for scum if the hydra rolled town.
Props to jaj22, Cascades and Liquid`Sheth for fighting an uphill battle there after your two more experienced players had been killed off very early.

Scum needed to be more aggressive in going for roles imo, allowing it all to fall to town didn't really work out. Day 1 watching them concede the roles away more or less was painful, and I really feel like a lot of their later problems stemmed from that.
Declaring these from memory, there might be people I overlooked: I was going to give scum MVP to Sheth, but -

Apologies to my teammates, I shouldn't really have signed up for this game. The new guys did well in lasting so long, good work lads.
As to hydras, I am strongly strongly against them being used at all, under any circumstances, with any restrictions, by any players.

thank you :-) I might take this game as a reference for future games to fight the unpersuasivity.

My scumtell post? The post about Eriandorr you mean? Well I am still pretty mad about him; while I am not mad about Dropbear. Someone who has a history of not playing because he thinks it is not fun to play as scum should be permabanned.
Curu used him as an excuse for his lack of activity. I don't know how large a factor that is, but more importantly, Eriandor is going to ruin future games.

Would also like comments on my play if any. I got outed as a scum in obs thread boohoo. ._.

No he doesn't have a history of not playing as scum and being less active as scum is a generic scum tell anyway. Annul didn't really post either as town (super/annul hydra) so curu could have easily just said that they agreed pre-game that erandorr doesn't have to post.

why? joke? joke question.
this was the first time you really catched my attention. The whole thing was so strange. Why would someone make these kind of jokes in this situation? the words "hope" "mafia" "kill" "for _us_" the whole comment looked so artificial. And your response seemed very arrogant somehow. I don't know. This conversation mirrors a strong antitown attitude somehow...
On December 15 2011 22:17 cascades wrote: Radfield: Has been active and has good content in posts, being helpful. Based on posts alone, I think he is most likely of all the vets to be townie. Arc: Very good activity. Has to elaborate and give reasoning for most posts though. "Cos I say so" doesn't cut it. Deus: He used to post simple one-liners. That doesn't help us much. He has put in more effort in his posts since then though. ProfBad: Bursts of activity. While he was here, he was active in helping find scum. Needs to be more involved though so that we can get something done. Dropbear/bumatlarge: Bad activity. Only came out to respond when accused. That would be really suspicious if it wasn't for the fact he got replaced, so there's somewhat a reason for that activity. Neverthless, I will be watching his replacement closely.
I didn't check your scumqt but if new players somehow know all the names of all the vets ingame it seems to be strange. Also listing DB as a vet... idk, okay I am on that list, too but me and annul together can be considered to be vets. After DBs and ProfBAs flips you looked very bad. Also the content of that list... You defended DB there without any real reason to do that...
On December 15 2011 22:17 cascades wrote: @Deus I don't believe ProfBad is scummy as yet. Suspicious yes. The way events have happened, this is obvious. Activity levels fishy and suboptimal yes. So far I haven't seen any good enough arguments, so I'm going to withhold my vote. I don't care about Arc's confidence, I want to see his case. Else if ProfBad turns up town, he can just go "Oops sorry I was wrong" and we would be none the wiser.
Risky move as a new player. A less experienced townie won't defend someone like that. After Curus flip you looked bad.
On December 17 2011 16:50 cascades wrote: So I guess this confirms ProfBad as scum then. I was looking through the vets to determine scummy play. I found all of them scummy for not pointing out how Arc was killing town discussion. I even laid the foundation to do so, but none of them stepped up to the plate. Finally Deus supplied the answer: it is Arc (Palmar) meta is to always play antitown like this. Hahahaha.
And now we have yet another policy lynch based on the fact that this Erandorr vet is a joke that ragequits games when he gets mafia. And in fact he does this so often its a meta that every vet knows. Surreal. Why isn't he permabanned yet? I want a Erandorr ban if ProfBad turns out to be scum. What a joke.
Banning Erandorr if ProfBad = scum?
you know it has been pointed ut several times. I don't think this post was a real scumtell, but you were quite inactive before and now you suddenly rage heavily because scumplayers play bad lol.
phew and the rest. You're accusing me. You were far from a point where lynching me was realistic. You only had risk on your side. You're case was horrible. I doubt that risk or you even read my filter. I had so much ammunition against you. I didn't even need to start to defend myself.
After my dialogue with sheth at night and as long as radfield was alive, I was extremely save...
A proper defensive strategy would have been a plausible theory of jaj22 and refallen or even risk being scum.

cascades, your mafia play was not bad, but it's really hard to judge people for how they play scum, until they've played a few games as town. Thing is, if that was someone known to be good at town posting like you did, he'd have been hanged day 1 without a second thought, but you get away because we don't know yet if your town play is good or bad.
I mean, you did not play badly at all, you made some errors (supersoft pointed them out quite nicely), but that's to be expected for inexperienced people, and yes, Curu just kinda... meh'd it up for your team.
About Jitsu, I thought he played quite well, he was pretty townie looking and even if his scumhunting wasn't the best in the world, just the fact how active, open and interested he was made him a valuable asset to the town to have.
Also, you played a pretty good game supersoft, you will now (along with prplhz) be hanged the moment you do stupid shit, because now we expect you to be good.

Thanks supersoft and palmar for the comments.
@Supersoft, well there were too many confirmed townies and the two vets. Had to get rid of them somehow. Theory on jaj can't be TOO feasible. Refallen looked like a new town poster for the most part. Building a case on him doesn't seem any more rewarding than one on some lurker like nycz.
@Palmar, you are right on difficulty of judging.Treat me as being #1 town poster, as I was making a conscious effort to refrain from garbage logic. For example, I am blind to my day 1 posting scumminess. I generally don't bother much with day 1. Too little to tell if someone was being dumb or being scum. Especially this game there was tons of garbage logic from new town. I mostly ignored them. Am I supposed to attack them?
Some quotes from you:
Both Syllo and I suck at finding scum, we're really good at finding townies though, so we're using the process of elimination to find them.
So apparently I didn't say anything townie enough eh?
OT:
Erandorr wouldn't join a game and then not post... unless he rolled scum.
Straight from the horse's mouth about Erandorr. I believe Deus also mentioned it somewhere and Curu was talking about it in scum QT. Which is why I am so upset about him. Joining many games and not posting when scum.... What kind of player is that?

Pretty much yeah, lurking and doing nothing is a viable strategy, but good players will call you out on it. If you want to be good at scum you should probably go read some of WBG's or Ace's games.

Did some filter reading but had no clue what to say about most it. Other than calling scum on it and adding flavour what could the announcer role have been used for.
