Welcome to Hogsmeade, the wizarding city. Stores line the streets, such as Dervish and Banges, Gladrags Wizardwear, and Madam Puddifoot's Tea Shop. The latter store has little flying cupids hanging around the patio area; upon the door, a giant heart is painted. As girls walk past the store, they swoon and dream of the boy who will take them there on a dream date... Footprints can be seen created in the lightly-falling snow, with nothing there to create said footprints. This is normal, of course, for Hogsmeade; wizards can do some tricksy things. As we walk down the street some more, we notice a girl staring off into the sky, looking at something that is not there. What is she doing? Is she doing anything? Who knows? At least one entity knows... Alas, what is this? It's a poster! As you all know, posters, pictures, et cetera in the wizarding world can MOVE! It's magical technology, of course. Any pictures taken can give a permanent glimpse into what is happening with the person of whom the picture is taken. And in this poster, we see a picture of the Minister for Magic, Ima Beadeadsoon, sitting in his office chair. What a lovely photograph! As we continue along, ... OH MY GOD, WHAT THE F- ... It appears... Minister Beadeadsoon... pulled out his wand... tried to cast a defensive spell... and is now dead. OMG. OMG. IT WAS VOLDEMORT! * * * * * As NotAnnul the tour guide makes that exclamation, the entirety of Hogsmeade entersa panic. People are running places, throwing random spells everywhere, not sure at all what to do. One thing is certain, of course: Voldemort and his team of Death Eaters are afoot! The Ministry of Magic must do something! But wait! The Minister for Magic is dead! The wizarding world must fill that vacancy before anything can be done. As such, elections begin immediately and will end in one day's time! Oh, don't forget, in the wizarding world, days last 46 hours. An owl flies overhead, dropping a single sheet of paper on the ground. As of day 1, there are 8 living players loyal to the Death Eaters, the Death Eater kill power is 3, and there are 10 living players with potential alternate victories remaining. | ||

doesn't seem like a big deal unless he decides to kill some really experienced player but why would he do that even if he was a death eater | ||

Now onto the game. Everyone should elect me as Minister of Magic. I bring the unique flavor of a player experienced enough to have a good general idea of what's going on and new enough to still be affected by begginers luck. As you minister of magic I will be open to any and all input (although older players will carry more weight) and I will try to make my first lynch as diplomatic as possible. Under my leadership the town will focus less on forming a town circle (something that has doomed many a past town) and more on lynching scum. Under my leadership any detective/alighnment checker roles that exist will not claim until they have found a red or confirmed a blue because with so many alternative victory senarios it will be crucial to have these players alive to determine who can be trusted. The one exception is if a dt finds a medic or equivelent type role, these should NOT be revealed because they will immediatly become death eater targets. As for the medics they should focus on protecting any blue roles that our detective unearth and once a detective is uncovered and confirmed than medics should protect them. This whole post relies on there being standard roles in this game... | ||

1. there are some number of smurfs in this game. be aware. 2. pay very close attention to the final line of every cycle change post. helpful hint. 3. a reminder from the OP: if a player has a special ability, it will be somewhat related to their character/entity. in this way, a large number of possible roles can already be guessed at. google is awesomesauce. not all players have special abilities, even ones that may be "obvious" to have power roles. | ||

Since the Minster of Magic is essentially the same as everyone else after the first lynch if elected I'll gladly step back down. I'm asking for your votes to ensure the most democratic way of deciding first lynch. | ||
