TL MAFIA XXVII

Intro:
Mafia is an educated guessing game of epic proportions. The objective of the game is to lynch or kill all mafia members before they outnumber the rest of the town. It's much like a game of poker because mafia members are also part of the town during the day and may manipulate the vote to their liking.
This mafia game works slightly different than the normal one (read: Mafia), so I'll explain it a bit more. During the night mafia will collectively decide on and send in their hits to me, who they want dead (it's a good idea to discuss them during day so you know ahead of time). Any player with a special role that can act during the night must PM me their actions each and every night.
If the mafia at any time outnumber the townspeople, they win the game. The goal for the townspeople is to lynch all the members of the mafia by whatever analysis, teamwork, or guile they have. The goal of the mafia, of course, is to kill the townspeople with murderous precision.
The game is typically very active and there are usually numerous walls of text to wade through. If you are not a person who likes reading then I highly suggest you don't play the game because it is essential to being informed within the game. I will not compensate for ignorance.

Posting Etiquette:
In the past, many players have complained or quit because of the excessive bm and pointless flaming. If you are posting agressively and know you couldn't get away with it anywhere else on this site, it probably isn't ok here. Besides, contrary to what you may think, yelling at someone is a great way to convince people to disagree with your arguments. Please do not post inappropriately, or it will earn you a warning based on mod discretion. If you choose to ignore the warning, you will be modkilled. Examples of inappropriate posts include excessive cursing and vulgarity, among other things.
Cheating:
Cheating includes (but is not limited to) the following and will get you banned from future games:
1. Posting after death. One polite goodbye post is acceptable but please do not post anything which could POSSIBLY affect the game. If you post anything which I deem game altering, whether intended or not, you will be temp banned from my future games as per Strategic Rule Breaking. Your pleas of innocence will not be entertained, and the mods (Korynne and I) reserve the final say in the matter. If you have any doubts to the acceptability of an after-death post, PM one of us before you make your post and we will try to get back to you as soon as possible.
2. Betraying your role and ruining the game for everyone by doing something like hand out your mafia's member list to the town.
3. Logging on to someone else's account / checking their PMs / looking over someone's shoulder to get their role.
4. Comparing role PM times to determine roles.
5. Posting screenshots of your inbox. This is not a photoshop competition.
6. Posting any PM you receive from a host.
7. Editing posts. Editing posts is not allowed for any reason. The mods can see your edits, and if you are caught, you will look suspicious.
8. Strategic Rule Breaking - is when you break a rule and that action leads to a net gain for your team. If you do this, you will be temp banned from my future games, and I will request that you be placed on the TL Mafia Ban List for one game longer than you would receive for inactivity bans. Again, your please of innocence will not be entertained. Feel free to contact us to confirm that your strategy is valid if you have any doubts.
Voting rules:
1. You must post your vote in the Vote Thread (which will be in a separate thread in the mafia forum). Do not PM or IM it to me.
2. You must clearly declare and bold your vote in this format ie: ##Vote Qatol.
3. You can not autochange your vote to the losing or winning bandwagon.
4. You may vote for yourself if you so choose. You may not vote for anyone dead or outside the game.
5. In the event of a tie the person with the most votes first wins over the other person.
6. You may NOT abstain.
7. Voting is mandatory. You must vote or be modkilled.
Modkills:
Inactivity has been a problem in every mafia game so far. My rules are simple. Miss a vote and you will be modkilled. Anyone who is modkilled may not play in one of my games until they have proven themselves to be active players in another game. I am hoping I never have to modkill anyone. Please remain active so I do not have to. If you do not believe you can maintain the required level of activity, please do not sign up for the game in the first place. If something unexpected comes up, then please PM me ASAP and I will try to find you a replacement.
Signups:
This game is open by invite only. Invites will be sent out primarily on the basis of past proven activity levels. However, as I have not been able to keep up with all the recent games, there is a possibility that you may have been left off the invite list even though you deserve a spot in the game. If you think this is the case, PM me and I will consider your case.
The game will start as soon as we get 20 players (but after Bang Bang Mafia is finished).
Clues:
There are no clues.
Time Cycle:
This game will follow a strict 24 hour night/48 hour day cycle. In case Korynne or I will not make a day/night post, any actions (votes or night actions) timestamped after the deadline will not count and the game will be put on halt until the day/night post is up.

Roles
This is a semi-open setup. Roles will be disclosed, but role counts will remain hidden. There is a possibility that not all roles listed here will be used in the game. Read this section carefully, it may be subject to change.
*Role descriptions are scanty because a) you are probably familiar with all these roles anyway, and b) I don't want to re-edit them since I now have to start all over again...*
Townie
You are just a normal player with no night actions. All you can do is vote during the day. But the town needs you to win so be active!
Detective
You can make night investigations. Once per night you may ask for the alignment of any player. Alignments are either Town or Mafia. You may be either sane, insane, paranoid, or naive.
Tracker
You have the power to stalk people. Once per night you can follow someone and learn who your target visited during the night.
Watcher
You have the power to spy on people. Once per night you can spy on someone and learn who visited them that night.
Medic
You have the power to save lives. Once per night you can watch a player. If your target is attacked, you will block one hit aimed at them. If you make a successful save, both you and your target will be notified of the save. You cannot save yourself.
Vigilante
You have the power to bring justice during the night. Once per game you may hit a target player of your choice. If your hit overlaps with another hit, your hit will go through and will not be refunded.
Mad Hatter
You have the power to lay bombs. You may place one bomb per night, and may remove as many bombs as you like during the night phase. If you die at any point in the game, you will detonate the bombs, causing your targets to take one hit. You may place a maximum of two bombs. If a player that has a bomb is lynched, you lose that bomb for good.
Veteran
You get two night lives instead of one! As always, you still die to a lynch regardless of the number of lives you still have left.
Mafia
Your goal is to eliminate everyone else in the town. Your ability, as a group, is killing off whomever you decide on at night and knowing the role of each other player in your mafia. You may kill your own members. Mafia killing power will be determined when the game begins. You also must choose the Godfather from among yourselves. If you do not choose by night 1, I will randomly choose for you.
Godfather
You are a mafia member who shows up as Town to alignment checks.
Roleblocker
You are a mafia member who has the ability to prevent a player from performing a night action. Once per night, you may roleblock a player, and your target will be unable to perform night actions for that night. Your target will be informed that they have been role blocked regardless of whether or not they can perform a night action.
Miller
You are a townie in every way, except that you show up as Mafia to alignment checks instead of Town.
Day Vigilante
You carry out (in)justice...in broad daylight. Once per game, you may type ##Kill (Player) in the thread. That player will die instantly and the day will continue as normal. You are aligned with either the town or the mafia, and can be secure with the fact that your shot cannot be blocked by either medics or roleblockers. Woohoo!

Some rule clarifications:
The roleblocker is NOT forced to act every night.
DT alignments are NOT revealed upon death.
A dayvig kill immediately kills the intended target. They are removed from the vote count for all intensive purposes. All votes for that person are void (although you wouldn't be modkilled if you didn't change to another live candidate) and therefore do not count for lynch. If a dayvig kills the leading candidate for lynch, then the person with the next highest amount of votes will be lynched.

Uhh. I might be one of few. I didn't know I'd be invited to this, and wanted to help him fill up his roster, so I offered, etc. I think LD is in there, AcrossFiveJulys, BrownBear to name a few names I've seen before. But I'm relatively new! I swear! ^^
Since it technically hasn't started, flamewheel, I don't mind being switched out if it's a problem? I know there was that guy who was late, God- something? Don't know how far into clues/profiling you are though.
If you're worried about activity, I don't think it's a big deal. It's summer for me =p, and any reasons for inactive periods will be there anyway (sleeping, going out, etc.)

Darth, don't call me an older player because I played exactly 2 mafia games (caller and Ace's).
It looks I am to sit this out because I am in 2 games (well, one got fucked up and the other is starting soon).

1. This game is not for "old" players or even "veteran" players. Its for players who have been proven to be active. So Lunar Destiny/BrownBear/DarthThienAn/Radfield qualify even if they've only played in 2-3 games.
2. I did not know that flamewheel was including some of the above mentioned players in his game. Issues have come up in the past when people have signed up for multiple games. I'm not going to ban people from playing both games, but I'm going to try to consult with BC/Qatol when they get online about what to do with this situation.
