But they didn't perform at the level they are capable of, so they're out, that doesn't mean the players are trash though

i was pleased to see the crowd had my sentiments exactly... you might've heard the booing whenever a korean so much as fell over near the end of that game... but i'm sure the sk crowd just had more volume than the swiss. korea to ro4! ^ that was a prediction not a statement

Sad it was a no call in game, hoping to see something done about it by FIFA though. Source

He may be their best finisher but he's pretty useless with the ball and kills build up's pretty bad. He doesn't even move well without it. The team is easily 5 times better with Raul Jimenez in there. Now to get dos Santos to work without messing up Fabian... Welp, this has clearly been shown. Mexico should drop Chavez instead of Ponce for dos Santos and move Ponce to Left Back (maybe not against really tall teams...even then maybe so). For the love of god, they need a Right Back that goes forward, Vidrio is mainly a Centre Back, Aquino can take out 1 or 2 guys by himself pretty regularly but can't do anything if nobody is remotely close to him to pass it off to. If Peralta isn't benched, i see Mexico getting beat hard in the semis...if they even make it that far with Peralta playing.

+ Show Spoiler [The Tweet] + He posted the message after playing in the 2-1 loss against South Korea on Sunday. He said in the tweet that South Koreans "can go burn" and referred to them as a "bunch of mongoloids."

He said in the tweet that South Koreans "can go burn" and referred to them as a "bunch of mongoloids." "Still, the Swiss team leader acknowledged that Morganella had to be sent home under the terms of the International Olympic Committee's code of conduct, which requires athletes to show mutual respect." I'm not sure what exactly is the Committee's code of conduct or the exact words of the message, but it seems a pretty clear lack of respect for the other players. Even if he didn't write that "South koreans are a bunch of mongoloids", which I believe he did, and he was only talking about the players on the other team, it should be enough for the kind of punishment he received.

I can understand doing what you gotta do to win the game. After all he risked getting a card himself with that lil joke. But with attitude like that... and having it on record where you can't redact what you post lol.... its a good call to keep him out of the game. Its not a professional conduct from an athlete. I suggest taking some anger management class.

I kind of disagree, the greek athelete used a term that is considered offensive to black people, not only that the "joke" included the black people being infected with a disease that may kill. On the other hand i kind of agree that the swiss was just being a bad loser and didn't mean to insult them the way people understood it, BUT his coach agreed that it he should be excluded so there may be more than we know.

Discrimination against people from a particular country is racism, and he wrote insults against koreans? Yes, some people only acknowledge the most literal meaning of the word, but there is no clear agreement on the concept of "race" and several definitions, from sources like the United Nations or the law of some countries, have no distinction between "racial" or ethnic discrimination. It's the same thing.
