If you watched the games, then EG did look fine. But history won't be kind when people forget about the details in a few months/years, people will only look at the scoreline, i.e. they got destroyed by G2/RNG and only picked up 1 win vs T1.

RNG really shutting the haters in CN up, including me (I thought they were 3rd best team this LPL this split), but Xiaohu and the boys have somehow managed to do it again.

I honestly thought Lee would've been a better pick for Oner as well, the champ in itself did not looks convincing to me at all the entire time it was played, where Lee almost always showed up.

Yuumi pick was fine, Zilean might've been better, but I'm not sure what Jhin was supposed to be.

Their entire comp needs to stomp early and Wukong doesn't have that much agency pre 6. Fact that Jhin/Yuumi lost lvl 2 (or was it 1 even??) vs Trist/Rakan is just a disaster.

expecting to stomp early with that comp is impossible. they were hoping that the game kinda goes like game 4 and the lanes dont blow up in the early game. thats still hoping for a lot for a team that isnt eg and actually knows how to use lane pressure

How were they ever going to get a leash on Gwen, even if the game went similar to G4? With this kind of comp you're begging for the Gwen to hardcarry. Sadly, with Faker being abused in the midlane, their only chances were in the botlane, which already screwed up before 5 minutes.
RNG had everything in place to take it slowly, T1 had to accelerate.
Also, I don't think Xiaohu cared if he got a few shockblasts to the face during standoffs, if it means he gets to E in, root and self ult (or ult Jhin/Ahri/Jayce and zhonyas), everyone else then has the ability to get on the other people. I still can't figure out how the Jayce fits in the comp or how they think the game would play out post 20 minutes.

performances were bad all over the map in game 5 too but you cant do much when you give up kill pressure in every lane you have just to hope to scale to late game. the style of drafting in game 5 was the exact opposite to what t1 obsesses about. sad

T1 almost literally lost G1 and G5 in draft. Arguably G3 as well, although I saw some path to victory in that game, theoretically. How did they not get how strong Gwen was? And they just kept letting Wei get comfort picks. Who's champ pool were they even pressuring? I don't know.
