It's already been said that he doesn't receive a large salary from CLG, so there's no reason to believe that he'd expect a bunch from another team.

Knowing how CLG was hiring for a 'chief financial' officer for 35k a few months back I can see Monte paid only meagerly.
But money is probably not his primary concern. He might want to coach a team with.... potential, if you will.

I really like watching VODs then coming here. Its like eating Apple Pie after running a Marathon.
I actually hope Monte gets dropped from CLG and not picked up so we can have a second, objective, asshole talking about League. IMO we need at least 2-3 more assholes talking about League on a competing show, preferably IdrA quality, and one ombudsman(and not Travis, NEVER Travis) to temper our new show of ill-tempered jackasses.

You can take the script of a talk show from most of these LR threads.
|
It's pretty funny going on Reddit and seeing all these people going "It's not Seraph's fault, he just gets no help from his team!"
|
Kiwi had a hell of a series today. Really hope they don't bench him, I think he can get better and has shown flashes of brilliance
Also I don't understand how CLG's sudden collapse is Monte's fault. In case you've forgotten, CLG was pretty decisively the best team in NA for quite a few weeks and then they just...collapsed. When they picked up Monte they got noticeably better in a few weeks. This is very, very, very, I MEAN VERY clearly a player issue for a team with a penchant for rotations and strategic play and strong mechanical players to just explode

You could...if we only had someone who read these threads and was connected to the scene so as to get on good enough guests to make the show viable.

Why is Travis hated here? I spot the negative comments a week ago as well.
|
The same reason serious football fans hate Chris Berman and Joe Buck (plus basically the whole ESPN Monday Night Football lineup); serious basketball fans hated Mark Jackson and hate Reggie Miller; baseball fans hate (actually I have no idea, I don't watch baseball); and every serious fan hates when Bob Costas talks about a sport they like:
1. Blatant Fanboyism; 2. Strong Opinions (almost always cliched and wrong); 3. Weak/Non-Existent interview skills; and 4. The fact that casual fans don't understand that 1-3 are true.
Edit.
Travis also has the "Troy Aikman talking about the Dallas Cowboys" thing going on when he talks about CLG, but that is secondary. Also, its important to note that these people aren't always misinformed/stupid (Like Gruden knows football), sometimes they actually CHOOSE to say dumb things (seemingly to ingratiate themselves with coaches/players).

I love how I don't get any of those references, but thanks, I see now.:D
Well, I'm happy his making content and doing interviews. He's a laidback guy so are his interviews. We need Thorins and Montes, to stir up things, but I enjoy watching Travis' casual interviews. Huge dlift and clg fanboy, which must be nice to clg fans, he uploaded tons of dlift content :D I liked the one where he drove dlift to his family, really nice thing to do, and dlift needs all the friends, because his style can make someone quite lonely.
Maybe I'm biased, because I just loved those weekends, where I watched the Solomid Invitationals, with "noname" players and teams who are now the best in NA and hyped as fuck shoutcasted partially by Kobe who is my favourite among the Rioters, and after that, tuning in to Travis' talk show with people who later became well-known e-sports personalities, like Sjokz, or Travis himself. It was like 2 years ago, but I have such a nostalgic feeling when I think back about those times. Hah, the first time I saw Balls he was playing adc for later XDG, and he e-d into 3 people in the baron pit and decimated them, then casually walked away.
Edit: Ah, this nostalgia made me want to bitch about how the challanger series are uninteresting for me as hell. I know a lot of the guys from challanger series watching high elo na streams, but they are aired at such ridic time for me, that I can't get myself to watch it, and I rarely watch vods of actual lcs games, let alone CS.

What are his strong opinions? The only time I remember seeing him express an opinion on anything was for predictions on Ongamers, but even then I haven't actually seen him write anything.

Well if TSM don't make worlds this spot hasn't been THAT bad.
Seriously though im on the alliance bandwagon fuck CLG bunch of pea hearted scrubs

Him getting caught out is just a by-product of playing support against a Syndra.
Travis doesn't even fanboy CLG that hard, sure he does tons of DL interviews, but that's cuz 1) he's great friends with DL, and wants to help promote his friend, 2) people fucking love DL interviews, therefore way more views for Ongamers, it's fucking win:win. He doesn't really shark away from dissing CLG either, and he gets DL to say stupid shit that kelby doesn't always approve of. lol.

I dont think his CLG-ism is that bad. He usually just as bad with all of the pro players. The problem is that his content feels like Ongamers picked a random, cute, girl from the audience and gave her a press badge and a camera crew. Except he has been doing this for 3? years (also is not a random cute girl).
Also, I just realized CLG's bizarre fascination with banning Zed (all 4 games). I did not realize this when watching, nor do I understand considering Zed is very un-Shiptur.

Kiwikid had a hell of a series. As Crumbz got his confidence through the series he ended up playing pretty great too.
I think CLG would do much better with a real coach as I still believe the CLG team as a whole is solid but it looks like they aren't going to get the chance with Hotshotgg on the case.
|
What does Hotshot actually do with the team?
|
Did any team deal with Ziggs like CLG did - clearing out the mines to ensure the wave reaches turret and going all in from there?

What he always does, get some talented players that won't fit in the team xD

Man, I dunno what Dig should do. Qt and Kiwi seemed to fix their issues for the most part when their jobs were finally on the line. Kiwi got his head on straight and played well without getting caught too much. Qt finally played Tristana. I really think Dig would be playing in C9 or LMQ's spot right had he learned her earlier. They demonstrated yesterday that they can really do a great job dragging games out with him on that champ, and they lost so many games to the exact same bullshit while he kept trying to force Lucian after the nerfs. I hope Scarra and his teammates get him to understand he has to play champions he doesn't like sometimes for the good of the team.
I'm still unconvinced on Crumbzz. He saved Dig's asses with that Insec play, but that was after spending the entire game being mostly irrelevant. He demonstrated he has the same issues in terms of itemization and playing the role his team needs him to. And his best games were on Kha'Zix where he can basically just build damage without anyone questioning it. Game 4 he did look great though, and really played out their plan to camp Seraph perfectly. I guess it's a question of what he does in the offseason in terms of learning how to be more than a solo queue jungler.
