Like, top cow, top tree are things I had never seen before Huge buffs to Alistar's ult mean in early fights and skirmishes he's pretty much unkillable, and his laning is stronger thanks to mana buffs. So he can abuse the headbutt-aa combo (even worse once he gets Sheen) during his laning, and build straight damage because it's so easy for him to disengage. Atfer that, he's the invincible guy for 5s during the first fights when he TPs in, and having Triforce on top of his very good base stats (huge HP pool, very high base AD for Sheen) and his utility make him very strong. Maokai comes partly from the AD changes: with shit like Tristana and Kog back, and the games revolving around the AD more than any other role, pure tanks (as opposed to stuff like Renekton or Gragas) become valuable again, especially utility frontliners like... Maokai. Also he's apparently a counterpick to Gragas who was super popular until last patch (not sure why he disappears, he pretty much only lost his ability to one-shot the wave with 50 AP), and he's strong against Mundo who's another bigass frontliner making a resurgence. | ||
