Also why is everyone giving Seraph shit? CLG gave up two of the most powerful hypercarries protected by a MASSIVE wall in Nunu/Shyvana/Morg. If there's one thing that can shut down a Jax it's this lineup. The team has been together for about a week, there's obviously going to be some kinks to work out. because coming in behind in experience and without flash as a hyper carry vs a strong early lvl champion and not shitting all over your lane while teleporting mid and getting kills for your losing mid is bad play. Keep in mind that Seraph was playing very lackluster come mid-late game. You have to admit he really was not as impactful as he could've been. Granted LMQ had a great anti Jax teamcomp and played those fights really well but that's not entirely on him. No one's saying Seraph is shitty. People are disappointed he wasn't Flame coming to deliver CLG a 1st place on a platter. Obviously it's just overhype dying down. (I'll be honest, I expected him to be some god myself)
He will settle in and improve. Nerves played a big factor today, I feel.
That said, I doubt he'll ever reach "undisputed best top NA" status. He'll be among the best along with Balls/ackerman, but I doubt he'll notably surpass them.

Thus, when he performs okay/decently at his role, people are disappointed, and say so. I thought it was an okay performance. About par with what I expected. He won them the first game against Curse with a clutch shy ult. His second game showed that first picking Jax against a team who has an answer for it, is not a good idea. Honestly, it's like same thing with SKT T1 K. People just got adapted that all five are playing like demigods, so every fail is just like - SLUMPERS - disband and so on. It's like people bashing Messi for not playing legally good this season in Barcelona after ridiculous 4 years of tryharding when he (i'm scared but it's possible) destroyed his health by playing on 260% and carrying everything.
It's nothing of the sort. Messi is a living legend and a proven player. Did you even watch Barcelona's games this season? Towards the second half of the season you just saw him walk around the pitch and out of position in offense with very little participation. Messi is underperfoming (for whatever reason) and he's being called out on it.
This is more like that Hallilovic being promoted to Barcelona's first team for the 2014-2015 season and being expected to be as good as Messi off the bat. He might play pretty well, perhaps exceptionally for a 17 year old. But he's not gonna be a god that puts the team on his back.

Seraph disengaged off of shyvana's all-in aggression because he had no vision. He has to assume there is backup coming. That doesn't mean he loses the all-in.
Also: Ackerman has balls of steel to engage an all-in he would lose without his jungler around.

I hope we get more games like that last one. Any more of this starve the top laner bullshit and I'll turn LCS off and watch MLB. It has better fantasy anyway. The C9 and first CLG game were so boring to watch I think I actually fell asleep, or if we are going to keep this retarded strategy playable atleast just leave the camera on midlane so I have something to watch rather than following two people who are both starved for farm depend on each other to get buffs.
If the first two games of this split are a tale of what's to come I'm pretty sure something needs to be done ASAP about it at riot.

Well, he got injured more this season than for years before. So, i'm not calling him out considering that obviously he had World Cup in mind and it's only trophey he hadn't won.

Ok I watched the game up through the Baron. The amount of map pressure XWX and NoName had was incredible. Seraph got his kills/assists through roaming, at the cost of wards/summoners, so he never had much of a chance to go aggressive. On top of that, NoName ganked top to force a back, and take tower while denying exp/vision. And right when Seraph hit his power spike, CLG lost both dragon AND ackerman got a red buff, which meant Seraph couldn't go aggressive yet again.
As for that Baron call when no one even had an armor item...I have no idea what that was about. Especially when you're forcing your BOTRK JAX to tank the Baron and make it take even longer to take...
EDIT: The TP after taking the top inhib was poor. He obviously wasn't expecting Twitch, but it was still way too dangerous a spot when he knows that LMQ was collapsing, and there was a much safer ward in top lane bush.
I've always enjoyed Phreak's casting but the amount he's bashed Seraph...holy crap. I'm really glad Kobe pointed out immediately after that it's way more about how strong XWX is on yasuo.

I have a very good idea how tomorrow's match between EG and Dig is going to go.

LPL semifinals as well. OMG-iG and EWDG or how the fuck are they called right now by Riot against WE.
Imagine all jokes about fantasy transforming into real matchfixing. Okay, anyway, time to sleep at least mine 6 hours. Even if it's 5 am l0l. G'night, LR, sleep well.

Man how the hell did XWX go from a joke in LPL to such a beast...either the competition got much worse or he improved like a madman. Probably a bit of both.
|
Probably the boost of confidence in all honesty. He obviously had the mechanics all along. Confidence does a huge thing when you already have fundamentals.

They ripped it straight out of Korea... Shyv just being a warden's mail or maybe even chain vest is enough to split against Jax. Turns out Shyv is straight up insane if it doesn't get shutdown (by Renekton, for example).

I just don't think you can give up Twitch in this patch. One mistake (Baron) and suddenly you're facing an unstoppable killing machine on the other side.
And we know XWX isn't getting Yasuo again either.
And the more I think about it, the more I'm puzzled by the Nidalee pick. They don't have a poke comp (Jax? Lee? Sivir?), and are facing a Twitch. Nidalee doesn't seem to do much other than giving Jax an AS buff.
|
Looked like they tried super hard to deny XWX his usual picks than picking their own comp...except XWX destroyed anyway

So Sivir was clearly a fallback because Liftlift has only been playing Lucian and Twitch meaningfully and Jinx would be a scary pick against Shyvana + Yasuo + Twitch. But if you put Lucian into that lineup, it looks like any of several OGN comps we have seen over the last month or so (I think Ozone played almost this exact comp in a loss to Blue?). Jax is a great pick in the 4v0 meta and Seraph did pretty well for awhile. Nid is just a great carry if she can get and stay ahead. Lee is obviously the first choice jungler. Kog or Jinx would have been a much better pick in the longterm but much scarier t manuever in the midgame.

It's not about DPS at level 9... It's about the ability to push safely, get away, and remain relevant. She pushes faster than Jax. She is tankier than Jax. She is more mobile than Jax. So she can get tons of solo farm, map pressure, and flanks harder than Jax because she is just harder to put down. She needs to be ahead, but not far ahead to safely split push and be a fucking force in teamfights.

What da. How'd you get more mobile than 6 second flash ...

50% Movespeed boost on 9 sec cd (5 seconds if you're pushing a wave)> paying 75 gold to leap forward. Sure Jax is more mobile in the jungle and teamfights, but as far as map mobility goes Shyvana had the edge. Kiss please.
