To my knowledge Riot has given out fully unlocked accounts in the past for different Regions. While it doesn't help the lower end teams that don't have a direct line to Riot it would still allow the guys in the Challenger league to play and LCS. Otherwise yea I agree region locking sucks huge donkey balls. It really shouldn't be a thing in gaming but unfortunately people are greedy.

Dota just has no Korea, otherwise EU would be just as fucked.

It's not like China is way stronger in DotA historically, than any other Asian region.
