snoopeh was good in a sense that he did his job.... killing wards and peeling for froggen. Even back then he was pretty much always behind in the jungle though and did some weird shit. I think he single handedly lost them 1 game vs frost in the ogn finals by letting woong steal red with his mystic shot.

I do think that he's the biggest example we have in the scene of a pro player failing to adapt his championpool though. I can only speculate if it's because he slacked off after he made it big with EG money and the community love for him or if he's just too bad to learn meta champions. Still though, the early 2013 period where he experimented kayle or malzahar jungle and then only managing to look competent on jarvan for the rest of the year was painful to watch.

It's a bit revisionist to say that snoopeh wasn't good back at CLG.EU's peak. It's just he's the exact same as he was on CLG.EU two seasons past their time.

Well it's hard to say how good a jungler was back then since they were in such a heavy support role. Even when CLG.EU were at their peak Snoopeh was never considered a top tier jungler, he was just merely fine so that's why I said not really.

Snoop was absolute top-tier back in S2, especially before support junglers nerf.
He wasn't as flashy and innovative as Diamondprox but he was rock solid in almost every game.
I still wonder what could happen if CLG.EU won S2 Worlds, damn you, CloudTemplar.

And Froggen was speaking about that before [A] was officially announced that CLG.EU jungle/botlane, even Wickd - they never had top-notch mechanics, so it was all about teamplay.

snoopeh was only top tier because he got carried hard.

Hmm he was solid and always did well but I don't know if you could call that top tier. Top tier is flashy/innovative people that have game changing impacts. Snoopeh just always did his job, never really did more except for a few moments of brilliance. Guys like Diamond/CloudTemplar are what you looking at when you say top tier. They change games.

I think CLG.EU had the worst early game out of any top tier team at the time too? It was also the time that Froggen always took both wolves and wraiths. Even if Snoopeh was really good he could never have shown it with that team.

snoopeh did what he was on the team for, camp midlane for froggen and buy oracles

but that's not top level play

Snoopeh was always solid, but he has not adapted to the meta for such a long time.

I was really expecting Pobelter to shine this game against the new LCS mid laner.

Well right as I am typing this he gets two kills in the team fight. Still I thought he would have a stronger game up until this point.

You can argue Pobelter is also a new LCS mid laner
