Stop talking nonsense. By all available accounts Fnatic practiced hard, dunno why you think you can claim smth different.

Yeah C9 deserved that very well played by them, not only where they better at team engagements but they also simply outpicked Fnatic.

Yeah, this doesn't mean that C9 is definitively better than Fnatic. They just came to play today and the current meta doesn't favor sOAZ. A lot of factors involved. I mean C9's duo lane get wrecked in lane, they just didn't feed enough to be a liability,

To be fair he was probably trying to be passive aggressive, but then cloud9 had to go outplay fnatic again and make it seem the kind of tweet a normal person would make,

Welp, time for Crs to win their easy win.

Unless Cog surprises us all by being clutch again, but then again 6-20 NACL record too stronk for me to be[le]ive too hard.

Crs's team just strikes me as all sorts of meh outside of Quas top. Vooby mid, Cop/Zekent bot, and IWD (was never impressive when he was on Dig :\ ). We'll see.

Lemon/Sneaky is still a very weak bot lane, but Sneaky isn't a Zuna in terms of positioning at the very least.

5 clean 2-0's, wish we had some closer games. I hope next time they make an actual bracket cause the power rankings change too much between the Summer Split and December to match them up like this

I don't understand blaming the meta for a guy known for playing a TON of champions sucking.

Soaz played like shit end of story no meta excuses needed.

Yeah in EU this seems to be the season of Wickd and Darien. Fantastic bruisers, that will make the difference in late game teamfights.

IWD is better than St.V was tho. Vooby mid is meh, and losing Edward might pose a huge loss for Curse.

IWD has worse game sense than Saint imo.

Arbitrary system is arbitrary. It's a showmatch, plain and simple. If anything, the fact that everyone is so riled up about something like BotA says a lot.

The real winner is obv Riot. There's going to be a lot of hype going into 2014 and the LCS Spring Split.

To be fair though, "the current meta" isn't a very good excuse. If you want to talk about who's better at a game, then you have to take the meta into account. Adapting to the meta is a large part of what makes a good team a good team. Saying "we're better at the game, you only won because we were playing the wrong game" is kinda dumb.

At the end of the day what matters in competition is who brought the best play on the current day on the current patch, and today C9 was better then Fnatic.

Though i agree he played poorly i found Cyanide playing even worse, and Xpeke aswell. Why is there so much focus on sOAZ ?

Still not enough focus on how bad Yellowstar is at Thresh.

what matchups would you guys have made?

I guess gambit vs c9
fnatic vs tsm
atn vs XDG
lemondogs vs dig

I'd make it like this:

Round 1:
DIG vs ATN - 4th vs 5th
[A] vs CLG - 4th vs 5th

Quarterfinals:
Fnatic vs DIG/ATN - 1st vs 4th/5th
TSM vs Gambit - 2nd vs 3rd
LD vs XDG - 2nd vs 3rd
C9 vs [A]/CLG - 1st vs 4th/5th

etc

There should really be more intercontinental play though...

Just look at the hype, this needs to happen more than twice a year.

At least xPeke and their duo lane did well in the early laning phase (establishing a CS lead). sOAZ just went even and didn't contribute much to team fights. They fell apart in the mid game.
