no Coast today qq
ok I can get down with some Ziggs tho

GGLA 4/5 subs or roster reshuffle?
|
I think thats 5 out of 5 subs lol
|
Otter played for them every week but last week
|
Otter was off the team, replaced by BobbyHankHill as off last week
|
word on the street is this is a permanent shuffle but I can't confirm atm
|
|
Let's defend 2v4 against Jinx and fed Kha'Zix with the no damage potential/threat of Nautilus amongst the 2. ._.
I thought Orianna wasn't doing much past midgame but I just noticed he went for 2 drings+chalice... no wonder he doesn't do shit apart from his ult and shields. And he goes for Deathcap over Void Staff. :/
|
Pobelter gets caught, the throws.
|
Sounds like it is a new ggLA roster, or at least inferring from the casting. They could be grossly wrong ofc.
If that is the case, where did the old roster go...
Also, lol Yugioh opening. I forgot this, it's been so long.
ITS TIME TO DUDUDUDUDUDDUEL

Casters: Jax fell off because people started to pick anti-Jax top laners.
|
with Rengar in the game? lol

To my knowledge, Rengar vs Jax is a skill matchup (like alot Jax matchups, Jax loses pre-6 pretty hard, can beat Rengar post-6: but by then, Rengar is going to roam because he's Rengar).
Also, a Wriggles Lantern? In my SR? And on a top lane?
What is this, S1/2?

lol what the fuck was that turn

thresh predicted the kass rift walk and hooked him immediately i think NiD couldve turned that if kass gibbed lucian

It's one of Rengars worst match ups, not that that says much.

Not experienced with the matchup (don't play either), but I'd say Fiora's worse :p. Can't remember the pick order, but it if Aatrox was picked afterwards, I'm wondering why Aatrox over Jax, outside of champion pool and unfamiliarity with the matchup.
Also, these Pyroclasms. Watching Chuuper take the lantern only to allow a chain Pyroclasm between him and MeyeA was hilarious.

Time for the reveal of the new VES team.
edit: And it is not the old ggLA as I had thought lol. The return of the best dolphin NA though!
|
Ecko and Ecco on the same team lol.
don't like putting Zion on Nasus, mabye trying to display team gamplan diversity? Nasus + Ziggs is kinda dumb for siege.
|
or he plays Nasus as a split pusher lol, NACL confirmed for Zion playground.
|
What's the new VES roster? Just tuned in. looks like I'll have to find a new favorite team :[
edit: ecKo says ecco was just subbing today btw. was it billyboss/yoda/ecco/ecko/atomicn?
On November 13 2013 10:44 Slusher wrote: or he plays Nasus as a split pusher lol, NACL confirmed for Zion playground. nasus best splitpush -sycho sid
|
It is Denial.East + Ecco. Dont know if its final though. Casters called them sub roster.
|
sub roster it is. guitar didn't even have a real roster prepared before releasing his dudes
|
I mean looking at the mechanics of the champion (mainly that Q works on towers) it makes sense, but typically teams don't play him that way, and split pushers they do run have mobility.
|
Nasus pushes hard with E, destroys towers with Q, and his a stupidly strong 1v1 that very few champions can beat straight-up (no mage can) and you don't want to kite him while tickling when he's wailing on your tower.
|
I'm kinda surprised Cheesedbaluga is challenger, his game impact in this league has been pretty minimal.
|
all his games? or just this one?
though i guess i don't have an opinion on him. :/
|
he had a game on Kha'zix where he carried pretty hard, every other game he's gotten tooled in lane regardless of opponent.
|
what just happened pretty much just sums up my feelings on the matter.

Coast is way to good for this league. Easy money for them.

Especially Shiphtur. Dunno how much that says for next LCS season though (if they get there) as the game will be quite different then.

Damn coast just crushed curse, that ziggs play was nice to watch. Cop and zekent had a terrible game after the first 15 minutes.
|
yea they look super good, and Curse is actually a decent barometer which is nice, but the reality is Zion is so much better than every other top in the salt mines it's impossible to be sure if they really have improved, because when Zion got a big lead in LCS games Coast also won, it's just LCS teams actually had the ability game plan against him(and have it work)
|
also I love listening to Stuido, even if he gets thing wrong from time to time, I think he adds value to the game, I always turn mute off on Studio nights.
ok love is a strong word, but it's pretty good.
|
Btw so stupid that they play awesome music during the ad breaks. It is like they try to force you to activate adblock.

no adds tonight anyway, thanks to world of airplanes or something.
also lol at the no item start, we've all done it once.

You think Zions is that far ahead of Voy/Quas?
|
Quas was given every advantage in last nights game, he was playing a lane dominator (Renekton), got the superior 1v2 (he got a kill) and then when lanes went even up, Dominate came straight top and gave him a kill on to Zion, and Zion was still significantly bigger when the game ended.
Voyboy isn't really a top anymore and his mid champions outside of Kass have been ho hum so far, if Voy was playing a top champion vs. Zion then it might get interesting.
edit: to be fair Shiphter playing as well as he did, and conveniently being Ziggs allowed Zion to Freeze without his team really getting punished for it but at the same time Quas really handled his time poorly during this time, he didn't really pressure Zion at the tower at one point he roamed mid like he was going to gank then just walked back without doing anything, like Renekton and Syndra should have teemed up to either dive Ziggs or Dive Nasus but instead they pretty much did nothing.
I just don't know if Quas was an upgrade for Curse when Voyboy moving to mid is taken into the equation.
|
First of not every game anyone plays is great. Also Quas does not have that much pro experience compared to his competitors. But judging by how good he is already, you can guess there is a lot of potential.
Just from watching Quas play on his stream I was very impressed. Actually it reminded me a little of the first time I watched Stephano from first person. I think it was the ease of play, the fluidity or whatever it is called. Meteos is also similar.
|
former VES subbing for VES?
I stand by my opinion that Zion is the best top lane player in the salt mines and it isn't especially close, thats not to say quas is bad (spoilers: he's obviously not) I just don't see it as a debatable issue, you can chalk up last nights game as a bad game, and while that certainly fair, your team putting you in a position to have a cs + 2 kill advantage in lane you NEED to pay them back with game impact to make it worth, and I firmly believe Zion would have done that.
TL;DR when you game plan to give a player on your team an advantage over his direct lane opponent, the best players give you that ROI

Wiz seems like their best tryout so far, tho I would not mind maplestreet getting another chance, he was not that good in their game they used him however.

they must just not have a jungle sub.

Seriously, my mind is melting. Renek starts dshield against a poppy and on his first back gets a cloth armor. I admit that I haven't played more than just a few arams in the past couple of months but I can not imagine the nerfs that would've had to happen for that to make sense to me.
|
I don't see what's wrong with the dshield? The cloth armor makes no sense but I don't see exactly what's so wrong with a dshield when the passive is still going to be in use against Poppy.
Nickwu's build on jungle Aatrox is way worse.

It only makes sense to me if you plan on playing passively against the Poppy... but I don't know why you ever would. Her weakness is her terrible laning phase so playing passively with the dshield just seems like you're playing right into her hands.
|
Starting with dshield doesn't mean that you're going to play passively. You can play very, very aggressive with dshield. The passive, the health regen, and the potion allows you to trade and sustain through it. It's safe and flexible as an opening item. Like what else would you start with on Renekton? Dblade is a risky and red-elixer is even riskier. Rejuv-pots-ward could work, but why would you over dshield in a Renekton vs Poppy lane? You're not going to say that the standard Renekton sunfire/sv build means you're going to play "defensive". I missed the first 10 minutes of the game so I dunno how exactly it is that Poppy destroyed Renekton so hard in lane but dshield was probably not a part of the problem.

I'd open either some weird concoction w/ a ward so I could shove her under turret hard or dblade. Your goal should be continual harassment and damage on the poppy so she is forced to burn her flask at an uncomfortable rate. Make her miss cs or also spend mana to do so. The fact that without any jungle intervention (to my recollection) after the first few minutes poppy was pulling well ahead in cs is just something that should never happen.

Renekton's base damages are so high that you really can harass continually just with arpen marks and ad quints. Dshield doesn't stop you from doing that in pretty much any single lane. Renekton is one of my most played champs and so I have a lot of personal experience with this. Again, I missed the first 10 minutes so I dunno what happened in game, but dshield doesn't stop you from being aggressive at all. If anything, dshield allows you to be more aggressive than dblade because you are able to get out of tricky situations better and recover from fuckups. The passive from dshield gives you more sustain than dblade too, and this is a lot more pronounced on champs like Renekton that aren't auto reliant.

Renekton has been my best champ for around a year. Congrats on enjoying a good champion.
Your argument seems more focused on dshield as a broad starter than against poppy. Poppy is a unique laner and opponent. In most cases I have no qualms about starting dshield w/ pots as it is viable against most opponents. However, here it doesn't serve you as well rejuv/pot/ward. Poppy can be a lane threat early in some cases but going flask means it's virtually non-existent kill potential unless you take a crazy amount of excess damage. You want the ward to shove into her non-stop and force her to spend mana cs'ing where poppy doesn't excel under the turret because she's still easy to harass when she tries.
Ultimately, however, this particular game had more to do with Bee being straight up outplayed hard enough that his item choice never would've made a difference.
|
how in the world does rejuv-pots-ward give you anymore kill potential than dshield? you're not really giving any argument. you're going to be shoving lane as a renekton against poppy regardless of what you start with.
